ORDINANCE NO. 2013 - 4115 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 265-53 OF <br /> THE CITY CODE REQUIRING PROPERTY OWNERS TO INSTALL <br /> VISIBLE ADDRESS SIGNS ON VACANT LOTS AND CONSTRUCTION <br /> SITES; CODIFYING THE REQUIREMENT FOR VISIBLE ADDRESS <br /> SIGNS FOR PROPERTIES LOCATED ADJACENT TO WATERWAYS; <br /> PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF <br /> CONFLICTING PROVISIONS; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE <br /> CODE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, Section 265-53 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Sunny Isles Beach <br /> (the "City") authorizes the placement of certain designated signs on property without requiring a <br /> permit; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City wishes to authorize the placement of address numbers on <br /> construction sites and vacant lots located within the City, that otherwise meet minimum height <br /> requirements; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to amend Section 265-53 of the City Code to <br /> effectuate the new requirement for construction sites and vacant lots. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br /> OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby <br /> ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part by this <br /> Ordinance upon adoption hereof <br /> Section 2. Amendment. Section 265-53 of the City Code is amended to read as follows: <br /> § 265-53. Required signs; no permit required. <br /> The following signs shall be placed where appropriate by a property owner and do not require a <br /> permit: <br /> A. Safety signs. <br /> B. Address numbers. Address numbers must be conspicuously posted so that they <br /> are clearly legible and easily visible from streets, roadways, alleys and waterways. <br /> (1) Residential building with four dwelling units or less: Address numerals at <br /> least four inches high but not greater than ten inches. <br /> (2) Residential building with more than four dwelling units: Address numerals <br /> at least 10 inches high. <br /> (3) Nonresidential buildings: Address numerals at least 10 inches high. <br /> I <br />
