ORDINANCE NO. 2014- q Z3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 265-46 (A) (17) TO MODIFY THE VEHICLE PLATFORM REQUIREMENTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE CODE; PROVIDING FOR REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, mechanical and robotic parking systems are intended to be used within parking garages in order to increase parking capacity; and WHEREAS, a number of development projects in the City are currently using mechanical and robotic parking systems; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to modify the requirements for the platform requirements for mechanical parking systems to eliminate barriers to competition in the garage market; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part by this Ordinance upon adoption thereof Section 2. Amendment. Chapter 265 of the City Code is amended to read as follows: SECTION 265-46.—OFF-STREET PARKING AND LOADING STANDARDS. § 265-46 (A)(17) Mechanical and Robotic Parking. (c) Mechanical Parking Lifts must also satisfy the following conditions: 11 The parking lift platform must be fully load bearing and must be sealed and of sufficient width and length •- .. :' . . - - - - .. - - . -- vehicle on the platform to prevent dripping liquids or debris onto the vehicle below.
