RESOLUTION NO. 2015- 234'7 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br /> ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) <br /> HONDA PIONEER 700 4X4 UTV'S FROM ARS POWERSPORTS, AND <br /> ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT AND LIGHTING FOR USE BY OCEAN <br /> RESCUE, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND <br /> SEVENTY-SEVEN DOLLARS AND FIFTY-TWO CENTS ($25,077.52) WITH <br /> FUNDING THROUGH FORFEITURE FUNDS, ATTACHED HERETO AS <br /> EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL <br /> THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; <br /> PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department's Community Policing Unit has <br /> the need to rotate their beach vehicles to assure the safety and reliability of its equipment to the <br /> officers; and <br /> WHEREAS,these beach vehicles will replace the two (2) existing beach vehicles that are <br /> over five (5) years old; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City now wishes to purchase two (2) Honda Pioneer 700 4x4 UTV's <br /> from ARS Powersports through the Florida Sheriff's Association Contract #14-12-0904, and the <br /> associated equipment and lighting will be purchased from Strobes-r-us through a piggyback <br /> contract, BSO Bid #13104030, in an amount not to exceed Twenty-Five Thousand Seventy- <br /> Seven Dollars and Fifty-Two Cents ($25,077.52), attached hereto as Exhibit"A"; and <br /> WHEREAS, staff determined that the above price is reasonable and customary for said <br /> purchase and recommends that the City Commission approve the purchase with funding through <br /> the U.S. Department of Justice, Forfeiture Funds. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Authorizing the Purchase of Beach Vehicles. The City Commission hereby <br /> authorizes the purchase of two (2) Honda Pioneer 700 4x4 UTV's from ARS Powersports, and <br /> the associated equipment and lighting from Strobes-r-us, in an amount not to exceed Twenty-Five <br /> Thousand Seventy-Seven Dollars and Fifty-Two Cents ($25,077.52) with funding through <br /> Forfeiture Funds, attached hereto as Exhibit"A". <br /> Section 2. Authorization of City Manager.
