CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS <br /> The meeting was called to order by Mayor Samson at 1:00 p.m., with the following <br /> officials present: <br /> Mayor David Samson <br /> Vice Mayor Danny Iglesias (arrived at 1:09 p.m.) <br /> Commissioner Norman S. Edelcup <br /> Commissioner Gerry Goodman <br /> Commissioner Lila Kauffman <br /> City Manager Christopher J. Russo (arrived at 1:08 p.m.) <br /> City Clerk Richard Brown-Morilla <br /> Deputy City Attorney Hans Ottinot <br /> INTRODUCTIONS: <br /> Mayor Samson asked City Clerk Brown-Morilla to start the meeting and he introduced <br /> Shelley Eichner, City Planning Consultant, and Vice President of Calvin Giordano and <br /> Assoc. Ms. Eichner quickly reviewed some of the prior discussion from the second <br /> workshop and a continuation (July 8, 2002) [City Clerk's note: 4 documents were <br /> distributed at the meeting]: <br /> • Discussion of each district with modifications to some of the zoning criteria, <br /> permitted uses, etc. within each of those zoning categories; <br /> • Increase the base FAR in the B-1 and B-2 categories from 1.5 to 2.0; and <br /> • Discussion of the 5% rule for hotel/motel units and converting. <br /> Public Speakers: Joseph Milton; Clifford Schulman, Esq.; Bill Lone <br /> 2. Archeological and Historical Landmarks: <br /> Deputy City Attorney Hans Ottinot distributed a memo regarding his proposal to delete <br /> Chapter 6 relating to Historic Preservation, in light of the fact that the County is <br /> considering a new Historic Preservation Ordinance.
