SUMMARY MINUTES <br /> City of Sunny Isles Beach <br /> City Commission Meeting — Thursday, February 26, 1998 <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER and ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS <br /> The meeting was called to order by Mayor Samson at 7:04 p.m. The following officials <br /> were present: <br /> Mayor David Samson <br /> Vice-Mayor Irving Turetsky <br /> Commissioner Danny Iglesias <br /> Commissioner Lila Kauffman <br /> Commissioner Connie Morrow <br /> City Manager James DiPietro <br /> City Attorney Lynn M. Dannheisser <br /> City Clerk Richard Brown-Morilla <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: <br /> ACTION: Vice Mayor Turetsky led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: <br /> ACTION: Commissioner Kauffman moved and Commissioner Morrow seconded a motion <br /> to approve the minutes of the January 22, 1998 Commission Meeting. The motion was <br /> approved by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 4. AGENDA/ORDER OF BUSINESS (ADDITIONS/DELETIONS) <br /> A. City Manager DiPietro requested City Commission approval to add to the Agenda:"Item <br /> 10-C, Authorization To Obtain Appraisals." <br /> ACTION:Vice Mayor Turetsky moved and Commissioner Morrow seconded the addition <br /> of the item to the agenda, which was approved by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. [Clerk's <br /> Note: see Agenda item 10-C] <br /> 5. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS: <br /> A. Add-on item: Presentation to Manuel Pine: <br /> ACTION: Mayor Samson presented Mr. Pine with a plaque in appreciation for his having <br /> suggested the City Slogan, "The City of Sun and Sea." Mr. Pine expressed gratitude and <br /> said he would normally have been in attendance at the January 22, 1998, City <br /> Commission meeting, but he had visiting relatives and no notice that he was to receive the <br /> plaque. <br /> B.Add-on item: Presentation to Robert Lucas,William Loan,and Rene Lopez Couto: <br /> ACTION: Commissioner Iglesias presented Certificates of Appreciation to Mr. Loan and <br /> Mr. Lopez Couto (Mr. Lucas was unable to attend), for having promoted our City during <br /> a recent New World Symphony tour of Europe. <br /> Page 1 of 11 - Summary Minutes of the February 26, 1998, City Commission Meeting <br />
