<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2009- ~8 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE RENEWAL OF <br />CONSUL TING AGREEMENTS WITH SEVEN (7) ENGINEERING <br />FIRMS AND ONE (1) ARCHITECTURAL FIRM FOR ON-CALL <br />SERVICES, IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED <br />THOUSAND DOLLARS ($200,000) PER FISCAL YEAR; PROVIDING <br />THAT AGREEMENTS IN AN AMOUNT OF UP TO $20,000 SHALL <br />REQUIRE CITY MANAGER APPROVAL AND AGREEMENTS IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $20,000 OR MORE SHALL REQUIRE COMMISSION <br />APPROVAL; PROVIDING THAT ALL CONSULTING AGREEMENTS <br />ARE APPROVED AS TO FORM AND LEGAL SUFFICIENCY BY THE <br />CITY ATTORNEY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL <br />THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, via Resolution Nos. 2007-1 188 and 2007-1 189 (respectively) the City <br />Commission qualified several engineering and several architectural firms to provide consulting <br />services to the City on an on-call basis and authorized the City Manager to enter into consulting <br />agreements with said qualified firms; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, recognizing these on-call services would routinely exceed the City's $10,000 <br />administrative approval threshold, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2007-1187, <br />providing that Consulting Agreements in an amount of up to $20,000 shall require City Manager <br />approval and Consulting Agreements in the amount of $20,000 or more shall require City <br />Commission approval; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2007-1187 also provided blanket authority for engineering, <br />architectural, and planning on-call consulting services, in an amount of up to Two Hundred Thousand <br />Dollars ($200,000.00), per fiscal year; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is still in need of professional engineering, <br />architectural, and planning consultant services on an as-needed basis for various projects that may <br />arise throughout the year; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff recommends the City renew Engineering Consulting Agreements with <br />Marlin Engineering; Gannett Fleming Engineering; EAC Engineering; BCC Engineering; A& P <br />Engineering; Bermello Ajamil Engineering; and Coastal Systems International Engineering, and <br />Architectural Consulting Agreement with LIVS Architects; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Consulting Agreements will be bound by the same terms and conditions <br />listed in Resolution Nos. 2007-1187,2007-1188, and 2007-1189, including the requirement of <br />approval as to form and legal sufficiency by the City Attorney. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />R2009- Engineering & Architectural Firm Agrmts Renewal <br /> <br />Page I 01'2 <br />
