<br />ORDINANCE NO. 99-~ 0 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 33-103, "PERMANENT POINT <br />OF SALES SIGNS IN THE RU-4 AND RU-4A DISTRICTS" OF THE <br />MIAMI-DADE COUNTY CODE AS ADOPTED BY SECTION 8.3 OF <br />THE CITY CHARTER, TO AMEND THE REQUIREMENTS FOR <br />"DETACHED" SIGNS AND TO INCLUDE A SEPARATE <br />CATEGORY TO BE ENTITLED "TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION <br />SIGNS"; PROVIDING FOR A REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR <br />SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is a proliferation of new construction occurring in the City of Sunny Isles <br />Beach; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City staffhas had a number of inquiries and requests relating to construction <br />signs, which has heretofore not been addressed by Section 33-103; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, with respect to detached signs, the criteria currently set forth in Section 33-103 <br />is insufficient to create a more aesthetic and visually pleasing appearance to the property site during <br />construction; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Section 33-103 "Permanent Point of Sale Signs in RU-4 and RU-4A Districts" contained in <br />the Miami-Dade County Code as adopted by the City of Sunny Isles Beach by Section 8.3 of the City <br />Charter is hereby amended as follows: <br /> <br />Section 1. Detached Signs. All detached signs shall be set back 25 feet from the <br />front property line and 25 feet from all side property lines. The maximum height of <br />such sign shall be no greater than 20 feet from grade to the top of the sign. The area <br />contained in renderings decorative or artistic portion of such signs shall be included <br />in the calculated sign area. <br /> <br />Section 2. Temporary Construction Signs. Section 33-103 is hereby amended <br />to add the following category and criteria for temporary construction signs. <br /> <br />"Temporary Construction Signs." <br /> <br />A. Construction signs, if so desired by the property owner, shall be located on <br />the construction site for the purpose of identifying the parties involved in the <br />construction and fmancing.
