<br />ORDINANCE NO. 2000-~ <br /> <br />- AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, <br />ADOPTING THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN ATTACHED AS EXHIBIT "A" PURSUANT <br />TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 163.3161, FLORIDA STATUTES, <br />KNOWN AS THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT COMPREHENSIVE <br />PLANNING AND LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATION ACT; <br />PROVIDING FOR TRANSMITTAL AND PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, was incorporated on June 17, 1997, and <br />is required to adopt a comprehensive plan within three (3) years of incorporation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Advisory Committee to the City Commission and the City <br />Commission serving as the Local Planning Agency has conducted numerous public hearings relating <br />to the comprehensive planning and future growth of the City involving public participation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 163.3167(4) Florida Statutes, the City has prepared a <br />proposed comprehensive plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on April 6, 2000, by Resolution 2000-01, the Local Planning Agency <br />transmitted and recommended to the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach the adoption <br />of an ordinance approving the proposed City of Sunny Isles Beach Comprehensive Plan attached as <br />Exhibit "A" for the required transmittal to the State Department of Community Affairs pursuant to <br />the provisions of the Local Government Comprehensive Planning and Land Development <br />Regulation Act; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission at a duly noticed public meeting considered the proposed <br />Comprehensive Plan, the recommendation of the Local Planning Agency and public input and by <br />Resolution No. 2000-215 transmitted the proposed comprehensive plan on April 13th; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of Florida Department of Community Affairs has issued its <br />Objections, Recommendations and Comments Report (ORC) to the City pursuant to which the City <br />has prepared a response to address such objections, recommendations and comments; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission at the meetings of September 21, 2000, and October 5, <br />2000, have approved certain modifications to the Comprehensive Plan relating to Policy 16F under <br />Objective 16 of the Future Land Use Element and Policy 5C under Objective 5 - Greenway, <br />Pedestrian, Bicycle Connection of the Transportation Element; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City Commission to adopt the Comprehensive Plan along <br />with the Response to the ORC and the aforementioned modifications, pursuant to the provisions of <br />the Local Government Comprehensive Planning and Land Development Regulation Act. <br /> <br />Ord 2000- Comprehensive Plan Adoption <br /> <br />1 <br />
