ORDINANCE NO. 2006- 'AG.'- AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE SUNNY ISLES BEACH CODE BY REPEALING SECTION 256-14 IN ITS ENTIRETY AND CREATING A NEW SECTION ENTITLED "PARKING METER RATES" TO ESTABLISH NEW METER RATES FOR THE METERED PARKING LOTS WITHIN THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE CODE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to repeal the existing parking meter rates and establish new parking meter rates for the Ellen Wynne Beach Access, the William Lehman Overpass (Center Island), Pier Park, and under the William Lehman Bridge parking lots; and WHEREAS, this new fee schedule will help offset some administrative and operational costs for the metered parking areas, as well as serve the public's needs. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Repeal. Section 256-14 of the City Code entitled "Permit/decal fees and hourly meter rates" is repealed in its entirety. Section 2. Sec. 256.14. A. B. Amendment. Section 256.14 is amended as follows: Parkin!!: Meter Rates. The parking meter rates at the Ellen Wvnne Beach Access and the William Lehman Overpass (Center Island) parking lots shall be Two Dollars ($2.00) for each hour. with a minimum purchase of one (1) hour and a maximum of twelve (12) hours. The parking meter rates at the Pier Park and under the William Lehman Bridge parking lots shall be as follows: (1) Six Dollars ($6.00) - flat rate fee during weekdav hours. with a maximum purchase of twelve (12) hours. Weekdavs shall begin At 12:00 a.m. on Mondav and terminate at 11 :59 p.m. on the Fridav that immediatelv follows. (2) Ten Dollars ($10.00) - flat rate per dav on weekends and Citv- observed holidavs, with a maximum of twelve (12) hours. Weekends shall begin at 12:00 a.m. on Saturdav and end at 11:59 p.m. on Sundav.
