<br />ORDINANCE NO. 2006- '2"''''' <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF TIlE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA AMENDING CHAPTER 14 OF THE SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH CODE ENTITLED "CODE <br />ENFORCEMENT"; PROVIDING REVISED DEFINITIONS; <br />PROVlI)lNG FOR INCREASED PENALTIES; PROVIDING <br />FOR A MINIMUM ADMINISTRATIVE COST; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CODE ENFORCEMENT AND <br />LICENSING DIRECTOR TO GRANT LATE HEARING <br />REQUESTS BASED ON EXTENUATING <br />CIRCUMSTANCES; PROVlI)ING FOR REPEAL OF <br />CONFLICTING PROVISIONS; PROVlI)ING FOR <br />SEVERABILITY, INCLUSION IN THE CODE AND AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the City has modified its Code Enforcemcnt ordinances on multiple <br />occasions and wish to combine all the revisions into one comprehensive enforcement procedure <br />to provide clarity and insure the most expeditious and efficient delivery of services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the City Commission also wish to adopt rcvised code enlorcemcnt penalties <br />andmisccllaneous fee schedulc. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY TilE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />CODE ENFORCEMENT <br /> <br />Scction. I. <br /> <br />Ordinancc number 20D 1-141 is hcrcby amended. <br /> <br />Section. 2. <br /> <br />Definitions. <br /> <br />For the purposes of this Ordinance. the following terms. phrases. words. and their derivations <br />shall have the meaning given herein. When not inconsistent with the context. words used in the <br />present tense include future. words in the plural number include the singular number and vice <br />versa. The word "shall" is always mandatory and not merely directory. <br /> <br />(A) "Code" means collectively the City of Sunny Isles Beach Code of Ordinances and <br />applicable sections of the Code of Miami-Dadc County as made applicable to the City pursuant <br />to Article 8. Section 8.3 of thc City Charter. or such other land dcvelopment regulations or <br />ordinances as may be adopted by the City hereafter. <br /> <br />(13) "Code Enforcement Officer" means any authorized agcnt or employee of the City whose <br />duty it is to assure compliance with the Code.
