3. Authorizing the Charter Revision Commission to select its own Chairperson: <br /> The City Charter currently does not contain a provision authorizing the <br /> Charter Revision Commission to select its own Chairperson. It is hereby <br /> proposed that the Charter be amended to permit the Charter Revision <br /> Commission to select its own Chairperson. <br /> Shall the above described amendment be adopted? <br /> Yes 348 votes <br /> No 107 votes <br /> 4. Authorizing the Charter Revision Commission 120 days to submit proposed <br /> amendments to the City Commission: The City Charter currently requires the <br /> Charter Revision Commission to draft any proposed amendments to the <br /> Charter and submit same to the City Commission no later than 90 days after <br /> the Charter Revision Commission is appointed by the City Commission. It is <br /> hereby proposed that the Charter Revision Commission have 120 days, instead <br /> of 90 days, after being appointed, to submit any proposed amendments to the <br /> City Commission. <br /> Shall the above described amendment be adopted? <br /> Yes 340 votes <br /> No 104 votes <br /> 5. Deleting the requirement that the City use Miami-Dade Fire Rescue <br /> Department: The City Charter currently requires that the City shall utilize the <br /> services of the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department to provide fire and rescue <br /> services to the City. It is hereby proposed that this requirement be eliminated. <br /> Shall the above described amendment be adopted? <br /> Yes 194 votes <br /> No 252 votes <br /> 6. Correcting scrivener's errors: The City Charter currently contains certain <br /> sections with minor scrivener's errors. There are also sections that need <br /> clarification for legal sufficiency. It is hereby proposed that the Charter be <br /> amended for clarification purposes and to correct grammatical errors. <br /> Shall the above described amendment be adopted? <br /> Yes 416 votes <br /> No 24 votes <br /> Section 2. Discharge of the Canvassing Board. The City Commission of the City of Sunny <br /> Isles Beach hereby discharges the Canvassing Board being Emanuel Pine, Member; City <br /> Manager Christopher J. Russo, Member; and City Clerk Jane A. Hines, Chairperson, as the City <br /> • of Sunny Isles Beach's Canvassing Board for the Special Election held on June 4, 2013. <br /> R2013-Accept Special Election Results 060413 2 <br />
