Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting September 19,2013 City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida <br /> 10E. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida,Approving <br /> the Second Amendment to Agreement with Action Labor Management d/b/a Staffing <br /> Connection for School Crossing Guard Services, in an Amount Not to Exceed <br /> $112,914.00, Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said <br /> Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this <br /> Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Police Chief Fred Maas reported. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Vice Mayor Aelion asked if there is a school crossing guard at 2:00 p.m. at the Intracoastal <br /> Yacht Club? Chief Maas said that is out of the purview and scope of the school crossing <br /> guards but we have a police officer that goes by there. <br /> Vice Mayor Aelion moved and Commissioner Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br /> resolution. Resolution No. 2013-2102 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 10F. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Authorizing <br /> the Chief of Police, in Accordance with the Comprehensive Crime Control Act of 1984, to <br /> Expend up to S443,125.00 from the Federal Forfeiture (DOJ) Funds to Purchase a <br /> Citywide Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) System for all City Parks and Government <br /> Buildings, Hire a Professional Security Consultant to Assist with the CCTV Project, <br /> Purchase Four(4) Microsoft Tablets, and Ratify the Purchase of a New Canine (K9) Police <br /> Dog; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Police Chief Fred Maas reported. He noted that <br /> our second K-9 dog "Diesel" is ready for retirement, and we currently have a K-9 dog in <br /> training. The other purchase is for a professional security consultant who will assist us in the <br /> larger design and implementation for our Citywide Closed Circuit TV system. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Mayor Edelcup asked if the installation of the CCTV System will be completed in the <br /> coming Fiscal Year, and Chief Maas said yes. Mayor Edelcup said that would be in all the <br /> parks except Gateway Park which will still be under construction. Chief Maas said that is <br /> correct, and we already have the first two parks that are scheduled. The Consultant has been <br /> doing the design work, once they start it, it will be rolling quickly. Mayor Edelcup asked if <br /> this cost includes Gateway Park, and Chief Maas said yes. <br /> Commissioner Gatto moved and Commissioner Scholl seconded a motion to approve the <br /> resolution.
