Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting December 20,2018 City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida <br /> 6. ZONING <br /> 6A. Request of D.P. Monaco,LLC. ("Applicant") for the property located at 17501 Collins <br /> Avenue, Site Plan Approval for the following: (Hearing#PZ2018-10): <br /> Requests: <br /> 1. Pursuant to Section 265-35 of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Land Development Regulations, <br /> the Applicant is requesting site plan approval for 113 hotel units with a proposed total of <br /> 50,408 square feet of floor area ratio. In addition, amenities such as a restaurant, a game <br /> room, and a pool are within the proposed hotel project. <br /> 2. Pursuant to Section 265-14 of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Land Development Regulations, <br /> the Applicant is requesting the use of graphics and murals on a temporary construction <br /> fencing. <br /> Action: Mayor Scholl gave opening remarks on zoning procedures/decorum. City Clerk <br /> Betancur read a disclaimer for the Zoning hearing and administered the oath to witnesses. <br /> City Clerk Mauricio Betancur asked if there were any Ex Parte disclosures to which all five <br /> (5) Commissioners stated they had not met with the developer. <br /> Planning and Zoning Director Claudia Hasbun reported that the applicant is seeking a site <br /> plan approval for 113 hotel units with a proposed total of 50,408 square feet of floor area <br /> ratio. In addition, amenities such as a restaurant, a game room, and a pool are within the <br /> proposed hotel project. The applicant also requested the use of graphics and murals on a <br /> temporary construction fencing. The application is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan <br /> and generally consistent with the City's Land Development Regulations. <br /> Public Speakers: Luis D'Agostino. <br /> Commissioner Gatto moved and Commissioner Svechin seconded a motion for approval. <br /> Resolution No. 17-Z-169 was adopted by a roll call vote of 5-0, in favor. <br /> Vote: Commissioner Gatto yes <br /> Commissioner Svechin yes <br /> Commissioner Viscarra yes <br /> Vice Mayor Goldman yes <br /> Mayor Scholl yes <br /> 6B. Request of GPI Sunny Isles,LLC ("Applicant")for the property located at 16700-16750 <br /> Collins Avenue, Site Plan Approval for the following: (Hearing #PZ2018-02): <br /> Requests: <br /> 1. Pursuant to Section 265-37 of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Land Development Regulations, <br /> the Applicant is requesting site plan approval for 120 residential condominium units and 220 <br /> hotel units, with a total proposed 330,875 square feet of floor area ratio. In addition, located <br /> on the ground level, the project will include 22,560 square feet of retail space and 5,413 <br /> square feet of restaurant space. The project's parking will be within an enclosed 5-story <br /> parking garage with approximately 679 parking spaces. <br /> 2 <br />
