Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting December 20,2018 City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida 6. ZONING 6A. Request of D.P. Monaco,LLC. ("Applicant") for the property located at 17501 Collins Avenue, Site Plan Approval for the following: (Hearing#PZ2018-10): Requests: 1. Pursuant to Section 265-35 of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Land Development Regulations, the Applicant is requesting site plan approval for 113 hotel units with a proposed total of 50,408 square feet of floor area ratio. In addition, amenities such as a restaurant, a game room, and a pool are within the proposed hotel project. 2. Pursuant to Section 265-14 of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Land Development Regulations, the Applicant is requesting the use of graphics and murals on a temporary construction fencing. Action: Mayor Scholl gave opening remarks on zoning procedures/decorum. City Clerk Betancur read a disclaimer for the Zoning hearing and administered the oath to witnesses. City Clerk Mauricio Betancur asked if there were any Ex Parte disclosures to which all five (5) Commissioners stated they had not met with the developer. Planning and Zoning Director Claudia Hasbun reported that the applicant is seeking a site plan approval for 113 hotel units with a proposed total of 50,408 square feet of floor area ratio. In addition, amenities such as a restaurant, a game room, and a pool are within the proposed hotel project. The applicant also requested the use of graphics and murals on a temporary construction fencing. The application is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and generally consistent with the City's Land Development Regulations. Public Speakers: Luis D'Agostino. Commissioner Gatto moved and Commissioner Svechin seconded a motion for approval. Resolution No. 17-Z-169 was adopted by a roll call vote of 5-0, in favor. Request of GPI Sunny Isles,LLC ("Applicant")for the property located at 16700-16750 Collins Avenue, Site Plan Approval for the following: (Hearing #PZ2018-02): Requests: 1. Pursuant to Section 265-37 of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Land Development Regulations, the Applicant is requesting site plan approval for 120 residential condominium units and 220 hotel units, with a total proposed 330,875 square feet of floor area ratio. In addition, located on the ground level, the project will include 22,560 square feet of retail space and 5,413 square feet of restaurant space. The project's parking will be within an enclosed 5-story parking garage with approximately 679 parking spaces. 2
