We understand that our role is to counsel and assist the City officials by providing a legal framework for decision making and thus enable them to meet their responsibilities and earn their constituents' confidence and trust. Our Firm's full-service approach allows you to avoid the need to hire outside counsel on a case-by-case basis and the unnecessary expenditures of time, effort and resources, financial or otherwise, to compensate and educate new lawyers. Miami -Dade County and larger cities like Miami and Miami Beach employ large staffs of lawyers in order to respond to the various complex legal issues that they and all municipal governments often face. We provide the same level of specialized knowledge to smaller municipalities in a cost-effective manner. Firm Attorneys and Areas of Practice Our Firm currently has approximately 70 lawyers, including Founding Members Richard Jay Weiss, Joseph H. Scrota and Stephen J. Helfman, 12 additional Firm Members, 35 partners and 20 of counsel, special counsel and associates. Bios for the attorneys who will serve on Team Sunny Isles Beach are enclosed in Section E of the Firm's Response. The Firm's largest practice area is its municipal practice group. More than half of the Firm's attorneys serve in that group and the Firm's attorneys collectively have centuries of experience serving as city attorney. The Firm also has one of the premiere municipal labor and employment departments in Florida. Comprised of eight attorneys, the Firm's labor and employment practice group provides labor and employment law services to dozens of municipalities across Florida, including Aventura, Bay Harbor Islands, Bal Harbour, Golden Beach, Hallandale Beach, Key Biscayne, North Bay Village, North Miami, North Miami Beach and Surfside. Descriptions of the Firm's practice areas of interest to the City as well as the Firm's representative client list are att ached hereto as Exhibit 1. In addition, the Firm has significant expert ise in every other substantive area of interest to the City, including each of the areas listed in Section 3.2 and 3.3 of the RFP. Scope of Proposal The Firm understands that the City seeks to hire a Firm to provide all of the City's legal services and the Firm is ready, willing arrd able to provide such services in accordance with the terms of the Firm's response.
