(EAC) is pleased to submit this proposal package in response to the City’s Request For Qualifications <br />(RFQ) to provide professional engineering and architectural services for the Pedestrian Bridge with Park Elements across A1A <br />at 174th Street. <br />Understanding of Scope of Work <br />EAC is fully aware of the importance of this project to the City, and to the potential improvement of pedestrian mobility in <br />the community. The project’s purpose is to provide safe pedestrian and bicycle access over Collins Avenue at 174th Street. <br />There is currently a need for pedestrians and cyclists to safely and conveniently cross Collins Avenue to access the Gilbert <br />Samson Park, the beach and numerous retail shops on the west side of Collins Avenue. EAC is a FDOT certified firm that <br />specializes in bridge design. We have built a team with the capabilities to provide the professional engineering and architectural <br />services for the proposed pedestrian bridge at 174th Street. This pedestrian bridge will be designed as an elevated park, with <br />attractive landscaping features and a safe pedestrian pathway. EAC’s familiarity with the tasks anticipated makes us qualified <br />to successfully complete this project. Some of the unique qualifications of the EAC Team assembled for this project are: <br />1. EAC understands the requirements of the FDOT’s Local Agency Program (LAP) Manual as it relates to projects such as this <br />that involve a bridge structure crossing a roadway. We will comply with -the FDOT’s latest revisions to the LAP Manual and <br />the Florida Design Manual for these bridges. <br />2. EAC has included a Peer Review firm on our team that will review not only the design of the bridge, but also the construction <br />sequence. <br />3. EAC has a proven reputation for providing notable bridge structures, including pedestrian bridges. In 2019, EAC successfully <br />completed the design of the pedestrian bridges for the HardRock Stadium as part of a design build contract. <br />4. EAC’s commitment to public safety will result in a successful project. <br />Our Commitment to RFQ No. 19-11-01 <br />EAC is committed to the practice of engineering, as well as to maintaining excellence in the quality of our services. We pledge <br />and commit to perform the proposed scope of work for RFQ No. 19-11-01 in accordance with the terms of the response being <br />submitted. Our team is ready and available to immediately start work. We have reviewed the scope of services for this project <br />and have selected a Project Team to ensure that the City of Sunny Isles Beach is provided with the required qualified skills to <br />effectively complete all the services called for in this RFQ.
