<br /> WHEREAS,on March 12, 2020,the City Manager declared a Local Emergency,as a result of COVID-19;and
<br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 252.38(3)(a)5.,F.S.,political subdivisions have the power and authority to declare
<br /> a state of local emergency for a period of up to seven (7) days, which may be extended as necessary, in seven (7) day
<br /> increments; and
<br /> WHEREAS,on March 19,2020,the City Manager extended the Declaration of Local Emergency for an additional
<br /> seven(7)days,until March 25,2020;and
<br /> WHEREAS,on March 26,2020,the City Manager extended the Declaration of Local Emergency for an additional
<br /> seven(7)days,until April 1,2020; and
<br /> WHEREAS, on April 2, 2020, the City Manager extended the Declaration of Local Emergency for an additional
<br /> seven(7)days,until April 8,2020; and
<br /> WHEREAS, on April 9, 2020, the City Manager extended the Declaration of Local Emergency for an additional
<br /> seven(7)days,until April 15, 2020; and
<br /> WHEREAS,on April 16, 2020,the City Manager extended the Declaration of Local Emergency for an additional
<br /> seven(7)days,until April 22,2020; and
<br /> WHEREAS, on April 23, 2020, the City Manager extended the Declaration of Local Emergency for an additional
<br /> seven(7)days,until April 29,2020; and
<br /> WHEREAS, on April 30, 2020,the City Manager extended the Declaration of Local Emergency for an additional
<br /> seven(7)days,until May 6,2020;and
<br /> WHEREAS, on May 7, 2020, the City Manager extended the Declaration of Local Emergency for an additional
<br /> seven(7)days,until May 13,2020; and
<br /> WHEREAS, on May 14, 2020, the City Manager extended the Declaration of Local Emergency for an additional
<br /> seven(7)days, until May 20,2020; and
<br /> WHEREAS, on May 21, 2020,the City Manager extended the Declaration of Local Emergency for an additional
<br /> seven(7)days,until May 27,2020;and
<br /> WHEREAS,due to COVID-19,the City Manager has determined that a condition of extreme peril of public health
<br /> and welfare continues to exist,thereby necessitating the continued state of emergency.
<br /> NOW,THEREFORE,IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
<br /> 1. An emergency continues to exist throughout the City of Sunny Isles Beach; and
<br /> 2. The declared state of Local Emergency is hereby extended for an additional seven(7)days,until June 3,2020.
<br /> IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that during the continued existence of said emergency the powers, functions, and
<br /> duties of the City Manager/designee of the City of Sunny Isles Beach be those prescribed by State law and the ordinances,
<br /> resolutions, and approved plans of the City of Sunny Isles Beach in order to mitigate the effects of said emergency.
