F-11Proven solutions <br />Responsive and dependable performance <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach RFQ No. 20-07-01: Continuing Professional Consulting Services (CCNA) <br />CEI for C23 & C25 Canal Bank Stabilization Projects, including G-78, G-79, <br />S-97, S-99, S-48 & S-50, St. Lucie County, FL <br />South Florida Water Management District <br />Tony Rosato <br />561.682.2406 / arosato@sfwmd.gov <br />33 <br />Work Performed / Firm Responsibility <br />The C23 and C25 Canals required bank stabilization at a number of gates and structures, including G-78, G-79, S-97, S-99, S-48 <br />and S-50. The work included rip rap installation, marine mattress installation, sheet piles, pile caps and stilling wells. CES was <br />contracted to perform on-site representation to observe and document the construction and to assist the DPM in determining <br />if work was performed according to the plans and specifications. This included reviewing and responding to shop drawing <br />submittals, Requests for Information, Change Orders, Field Orders and Value Engineering proposals. It also required CES to <br />provide Record Drawings and a Construction Certificate of Completion at the end of the project, signed and sealed by a Florida <br />Professional Engineer. <br />The S-50 Structure is a reinforced concrete, un-gated, fixed crest ogee weir with a crest elevation of 12.0 feet. The weir is 126 feet <br />wide and includes a hydraulic jump producing stilling basin with two rows of concrete baffles. The structure also includes steel <br />sheet pile wingwalls on the upstream and downstream sides. The purpose of this structure is to serve as a part of the overall <br />flood protection system to ensure water control, to regulate flow and to prevent excessive velocities in the C-25 Canal. CES was <br />contracted to perform inspection of the work to ensure the construction met the requirements of the Contract Documents and <br />applicable permits. CES also prepared and issued signed and sealed Record Drawings and a Construction Completion Certificate <br />to the District <br />CES used District-provided Primavera software as the document tracking and control system. This included tracking submittals, <br />Requests for Information, payment applications, meeting minutes and the inspector’s daily reports. <br />QA/QC was handled by CES Project Manager Bud Goblisch, who has over 40 years of experience in the construction management <br />field. Weekly calls to the field representative were held and documentation review was completed on a regular basis to ensure <br />that the procedures were being followed. Timely reviews and quality technical comments were essential to the project team <br />efforts. The project was completed on time and budget. <br />CES Project Manager Bud Goblisch <br />worked to ensure the work <br />progressed according to schedule and <br />budget and established clear lines <br />of responsibility and communication <br />with all project participants. <br />Scheduling and document tracking <br />and control software was utilized <br />throughout, allowing the District PM <br />to keep up with project progress and <br />issues. <br />Completion <br />2018
