E-63Proven solutionsResponsive and dependable performance
City of Sunny Isles Beach RFQ No. 20-07-01: Continuing Professional Consulting Services (CCNA)
25. Firms from section involved with this project
A.
(1) FIRM NAME (2) FIRM LOCATION (City & State) (3) ROLE
CES Consultants, Inc.Miami, Pembroke Pines &
West Palm Beach, FL
Civil Engineering Analysis & Design
STANDARD FORM 330 (REV. 8/2016) PAGE 3
6. CEI for SFWMD Compartment C Build-Out (G-508 Pump Station) Hendry County, FL Completion: 2012
Since 2002, CES Consultants has provided miscellaneous engineering services to
the South Florida Water Management District for a variety of civil works engineering
projects. For one of the major SFWMD projects beginning in 2008, CES provided
essential Construction/Resident Engineer and Engineering During Construction
(EDC) services during construction of the pump station portion of the $47.5M
Everglades Restoration project to build the C-43 West (Caloosahatchee River)
Reservoir in Hendry County, Florida. This 10,500 acre project required extensive
earthwork, the installation of 20 gated flow control structures, construction of a
45 CFS pump station, and 20 miles of underground electric distribution.
CES provided the following Construction services for the multi-year project:
»Review of shop drawings and RFIs
»Coordination with SFWMD staff, Construction Management consultant,
Engineer-of-Record, other team site inspectors, and construction
contractors
»Miscellaneous design during construction, contract document clarification, and construction observation
»Detailed planning and coordination with SFWMD staff for field reconnaissance and survey activities
As a key subconsultant for the construction phase of the project, CES provided support services to the team in two essential
technical areas: Construction Resident Engineering and constructed facility documentation. These services required qualified
engineers and technicians to monitor construction activities, report reliable results to ensure acceptance of quality construction,
and prepare completed construction documentation. To provide consistent and timely services, CES developed an efficient
staff scheduling process and a construction services practice consistent with SFWMD requirements, which resulted in effective
monitoring of key quality parameters for the team.
The CES services for Construction Resident Engineering provided critical construction documentation necessary for construction
quality monitoring, completed construction records, and inspection reports. Complete and accurate reporting is instrumental
to SFWMD facility operations and management, and valid records of constructed facilities. During the course of the work, CES,
as well as the Prime consultant, followed internal QA/QC check-outs for all activities and deliverables. Timely reporting and
quality technical data were essential to the CES team’s prosecution of construction management.
