CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES (CCNA)
RFQ No. 20-07-01

Project Approach

Approach (Coordination)
Mr. Mike Bartholomew, PSM will be Biscayne Engineering’s (BE’S) project manager for this project and in this
capacity will serve as the primary contact for the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the City). When the City requests a
proposal from BE for an specific assignment, Mr. Bartholomew will work closely with the City’s project manager
to develop a full understanding of the scope of services required. After doing so, BE will take the steps necessary
to prepare a fee proposal.

Research
If the work is to be performed within property that the City or one of its consultants has surveyed before, BE will
request all prior surveying data (drawings, notes, etc.) that is available. Following this, BE will research our own
extensive surveying records which date back the mid 1800’s. Horizontal and vertical control will also be researched
through Labins, and Miami-Dade County, to supplement any control data provided by the City.

Site Visit
Prior to preparing a fee proposal, a site visit will be performed. This will ensure that conditions on the ground are
as we expected, and the scope of services, as we understand them can be performed. We will also ensure that,
where applicable, horizontal and vertical controls are in place to perform the work. Site photographs will also be
taken at this time, particularly in any areas of specific concern. A site visit can also help identify any access issues
before proposing and before dispatching a crew to collect data.

10
