Poor stormwater management can also lead to unnecessary flood damage,
creating burdensome costs to landowners and taxpayers. The civil engineers at Coastal
Systems have demonstrated project experience with the design and permitting of
stormwater management plans throughout Florida. Services are routinely provided to clients
in support of site development. Whether it is the implementation of an infiltration trench, an
outfall backflow preventor and baffle box, or a Best Management Practice (BMP) project,
the civil engineering team has all the necessary capabilities. The team strives to keep
abreast of the constantly changing local, state and federal regulations in municipal
stormwater projects.

Public Infrastructure/AmenitiesPublic Infrastructure/AmenitiesPublic Infrastructure/AmenitiesPublic Infrastructure/Amenities

Coastal Systems has extensive experience in designing and permitting public infrastructure
and amenity projects, including park, trailway, and street improvements. A particular
specialty is the integration of public walkways and natural habitat enhancements into
waterfront environments, creating a comprehensive waterfront with pedestrian-friendly
green spaces and increased shoreline connectivity. Previous projects include recreational
shorelines, oceanfront access, and coastal dune habitat improvements, as well as
bayfront/Intracoastal park upgrades with natural shoreline stabilization design. Coastal
Systems works to maximize the experience of the various public amenity user groups, while
minimizing environmental footprint and being sensitive to construction cost and
maintenance issues.

Coastal Systems has worked with many public clients to enhance access to waterfront areas
and the public experience in these special environments. These include shoreline
stabilization and beautification projects using structural and vegetated design solutions,
pedestrian trails and transportation connections, public docks and viewing platforms, kayak
launch areas, ADA access design, and other park and public area improvements. Coastal
Systems has also provided public clients with recommendations for planning and design
standards in coastal and waterfront areas to allow appropriate consideration for area-specific
issues such as flood and coastal storm vulnerability, endangered species protection, riparian
rights and navigational safety.

Coastal EngineeringCoastal EngineeringCoastal EngineeringCoastal Engineering

Coastal Systems has provided a vast array of coastal engineering services throughout
Florida and the Caribbean.
