YEAR COMPLETED
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (If applicable)Indian Creek Drive ROW Infrastructure Improvements
(Miami Beach, FL)2016
City of Miami Beach Public Works Dept.
Universal Engineering Sciences
The City of Miami Beach Public Works Department retained UES to perform geotechnical services
for the proposed infrastructure improvements. The project includes roadway, drainage, lighting
and signalization improvements as well as replacement of a bulkhead wall along the existing canal.
Additionally, the geotechnical services include providing design services for a Pump Station at 32nd
Street, which included developing engineering recommendations for pump station foundation and
excavation support.
UES’s scope of services included performing subsurface exploration for design of the bulkhead wall
system, perform laboratory soil/rock classification testing, and providing soil/rock parameters for use in
bulkhead retaining wall design. The geotechnical field exploration program was a challenge in order to
properly secure ROW permits and provide Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) during normal work hours.
Giancarlo Pena, PE 305-673-7071
N/A
2
Medley, Florida Geotechnical,
Construction Material Testing
