18800 NW 2nd Ave, Suite 216, Miami, Florida 33169 (305) 651-8522 www.hammondengineers.com <br />APPROACH <br />We ascertain that under this contract our services will fall under the <br />following services and may not be limited to: <br />•3.1.7 Building Remodeling and/or New Construction. <br />•3.1.8 Plans Review and Permitting <br />•3.1.10 Construction Administration <br />For each assignment, the City of Doral will furnish a Work Order (WO) <br />and scope for each service. The Prime consultant will negotiate with <br />the subconsultant based on hourly rates submitted by the sub during <br />contract negotiations with the City. <br />Upon Notice to Proceed (NTP) to Hammond & Associates, our <br />approach to provide MEP service assignment will be as follows: <br />•Prepare and negotiate man-hours and schedule for the scope of <br />services provided by the Prime. <br />•Review the design criteria <br />•Begin data collection (as applicable) <br />•Request a kickoff meeting and field review with key individuals <br />from the project Team and the City <br />•Develop an MEP conceptual/preliminary designs for approval early <br />in the project <br />•Mitigate and provide solutions of any foreseeable impacts to <br />avoid/minimize delays <br />•Prepare final construction plans or studies and include cost <br />estimates with each phase review <br />•Reply to Prime’s quality control reviews prior to milestone <br />submittal (i.e. 30%, 50%, Permit submittal, etc.) <br />•Coordinate with permitting agencies (as applicable) <br />•Proceed with the preparation of specifications including special <br />provisions for any items not covered under the standard <br />specifications <br />COMMUNICATIONS MANAGEMENT PLAN <br />Efficient teamwork can only be achieved through communication. As part of the Project Team, Hammond & Associates will follow <br />all communication standards set-forth by the Prime’s Project Manager throughout any assigned projects. <br />Internal communications will be led Hammond & Associates Project Manager ,Stephen Farquharson, LEED AP, throughout the <br />assigned projects. Mr. Farquharson will maintain a proactive management philosophy, ensuring that we communicate clearly to <br />maintain strict coordination within our team. Project communications include internal communications with our Project Team; <br />City staff, personnel and departments; as well as permitting and jurisdictional agencies. Verbal and written communication will be <br />precisely documented and properly filed. <br />Our initial field visit will serve as a tool for our team members to identify potential issues, provide a level of value analysis, and <br />coordinate between the different design disciplines. Our Senior Engineers/Designers will meet in the field and agree to optimal <br />solutions based on the field review. <br />Should Hammond & Associates recommendation differ from the City’s, we will submit our findings to our the Team’s Project <br />Manager, who will review and submit to the City for final approval. Once solutions to issues are agreed, plans or studies can <br />proceed smoothly through final design and towards construction. Our current and future workload ensures that we have <br />the resources to effectively carry out and complete assignments under the Professional General Engineering and Architectural <br />Services contract.
