18800 NW 2nd Ave, Suite 216, Miami, Florida 33169 (305) 651-8522 www.hammondengineers.com APPROACH We ascertain that under this contract our services will fall under the following services and may not be limited to: •3.1.7 Building Remodeling and/or New Construction. •3.1.8 Plans Review and Permitting •3.1.10 Construction Administration For each assignment, the City of Doral will furnish a Work Order (WO) and scope for each service. The Prime consultant will negotiate with the subconsultant based on hourly rates submitted by the sub during contract negotiations with the City. Upon Notice to Proceed (NTP) to Hammond & Associates, our approach to provide MEP service assignment will be as follows: •Prepare and negotiate man-hours and schedule for the scope of services provided by the Prime. •Review the design criteria •Begin data collection (as applicable) •Request a kickoff meeting and field review with key individuals from the project Team and the City •Develop an MEP conceptual/preliminary designs for approval early in the project •Mitigate and provide solutions of any foreseeable impacts to avoid/minimize delays •Prepare final construction plans or studies and include cost estimates with each phase review •Reply to Prime’s quality control reviews prior to milestone submittal (i.e. 30%, 50%, Permit submittal, etc.) •Coordinate with permitting agencies (as applicable) •Proceed with the preparation of specifications including special provisions for any items not covered under the standard specifications COMMUNICATIONS MANAGEMENT PLAN Efficient teamwork can only be achieved through communication. As part of the Project Team, Hammond & Associates will follow all communication standards set-forth by the Prime’s Project Manager throughout any assigned projects. Internal communications will be led Hammond & Associates Project Manager ,Stephen Farquharson, LEED AP, throughout the assigned projects. Mr. Farquharson will maintain a proactive management philosophy, ensuring that we communicate clearly to maintain strict coordination within our team. Project communications include internal communications with our Project Team; City staff, personnel and departments; as well as permitting and jurisdictional agencies. Verbal and written communication will be precisely documented and properly filed. Our initial field visit will serve as a tool for our team members to identify potential issues, provide a level of value analysis, and coordinate between the different design disciplines. Our Senior Engineers/Designers will meet in the field and agree to optimal solutions based on the field review. Should Hammond & Associates recommendation differ from the City’s, we will submit our findings to our the Team’s Project Manager, who will review and submit to the City for final approval. Once solutions to issues are agreed, plans or studies can proceed smoothly through final design and towards construction. Our current and future workload ensures that we have the resources to effectively carry out and complete assignments under the Professional General Engineering and Architectural Services contract.
