<br />Stephen Farquharson is an Electrical Engineer with over 13 years of Electrical
<br />Engineering Design and Construction Administration experience. He has served as
<br />lead Electrical engineer on many of Hammond & Associates renovation projects.
<br />His expertise includes design of UPS, re alarm, lightning protection, lighting and
<br />power systems. He is very knowledgeable in the requirements and speci cations of
<br />back-up generators. He has the expertise in managing complex projects requiring
<br />LEED design including several LEED Silver projects. He works in close collaboration
<br />with project owners and architects to create a lighting design that meets the needs
<br />of both the Owner and the User.

<br />CITY OF MIRAMAR POLICE DEPARTMENT, City of Miramar, FL This facility is a
<br />three-story wrap around structure surrounding the Town Center Parking Garage.
<br />The rst level of this 80,000 SF building consists of a pedestrian friendly retail
<br />area with an arch covered exterior sidewalk facing City Hall Promenade and the
<br />pedestrian/automobile entrance to the building. The second and third oor houses
<br />the City’s Police Department including a sally port entry, holding areas, off ices,
<br />conference rooms and investigative facilities. This secure building is designed to
<br />be bullet-proof inside and outside and withstand Category 5 hurricanes.
<br />BROWARD COUNTY COURTHOUSE, Broward County, FL– Hammond &
<br />Associates provided Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Engineering services for the
<br />new courthouse complex including a county off ice building, the county jail, three
<br />courthouse buildings, an energy center, and a parking garage. The 740,000-square
<br />foot court building, which will occupy a 1.55-acre portion of the campus, is 20-stories
<br />high and features 74 courtrooms and hearing rooms, as well as off ice space
<br />for several government agencies. The courthouse will feature state-of-the-art
<br />technology, including extensive audio-visual and evidence presentation systems
<br />for the courtrooms and off ice spaces. Security will be enhanced using CCTV, card
<br />access, duress devices (push buttons) and entry screening security systems.
<br />Achieving a LEED Gold certi cation, the courthouse includes energy reductions up
<br />to 22 percent and water-use savings up to 30 percent. Role: Electrical Engineer.
<br />FORT LAUDERDALE, FIRE STATION NO. 54, Fort Lauderdale, FL – 10,000-square-
<br />foot facility include a two-bay apparatus room for a ladder and rescue trucks, a
<br />medical exam/watch off ice, two business off ices, equipment bunker storage,
<br />medical storage, decontamination room and a multi-purpose room for department
<br />or community use complete with restroom facilities. The site also includes a
<br />training tower for live drills. Living amenities within the two-story building include
<br />private dormitory facilities, full-service kitchen with commercial range and hood,
<br />dining facility, day room with reclining theater seats, covered exterior patio,
<br />laundry, and tness facility. Sustainable building design and construction practices
<br />were planed into the building and site design to attain Florida Green Building
<br />Coalition Certi cation. Hammond & Associates provided Mechanical, Electrical,
<br />Plumbing and Fire Protection engineering design services as well as Construction
<br />Administration. Role: Lead Electrical Engineer and Construction Administration for
<br />the project.
<br />HELEN MILLER COMMUNITY CENTER, OPA LOCKA, FL – Demolished the
<br />existing 1-story building and designed and constructed a new 2-story energy
<br />eff icient building of approximately 6,000 square feet at the same location. The
<br />building is a multi-purpose facility with the following amenities: community hall,
<br />restroom, kitchen facility, off ices, operation rooms, and storage room. Design
<br />services were delivered in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
<br />The facility provides a public facility and infrastructure improvements bene t,
<br />which serves the Opa-Locka Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area in the
<br />City of Opa-Locka. Provided Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection
<br />engineering services for the facility. The facility also serves as a hurricane shelter
<br />while complying with the City’s need. Construction Cost $ 3.8 Million. Role: Electrical
<br />Engineer
