The project consists of construction of a membrane roof over the existing Pompano Beach Amphitheater. Terracon
performed subsurface exploration and geotechnical engineering services for the proposed roof. The scope of work included the advancement
of test borings to a depth of 90 feet below existing site grades. The borings were advanced with a truck -mounted drill rig using a rotary method.
We observed and recorded groundwater levels during drilling and sampling. The samples were placed in appropriate container s and taken to
our soil laboratory for testing and classification by a geotechnical engineer. Information and geotechnical engineering recommendations were
provided in relation to subsurface soil (and rock) conditions; groundwater conditions; site preparat ion and earthwork; and foundation design
and construction. Terracon delivered the firm’s information, opinions, and recommendations using GeoReport®, a web-based information and
delivery collaboration portal. Geotechnical engineering services were performed for the proposed Cooper City WTP Water Storage Tank replacement
project located at 11791 SW 49th Street. Test borings were advanced to depths of approximately 60 to 65 feet below ground surface along the
perimeter of the existing water storage ta nk. The purpose of these services is to provide information and geotechnical engineering
recommendations relative to subsurface soil/rock conditions, groundwater conditions, foundation design and construction, and earthwork.
Firm’s Fee: $7,675
d.
(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State) (2) YEAR COMPLETED
Broward County Courthouse
Fort Lauderdale, FL
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (If applicable)
2016 N/A
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE ☒ Check if project performed with current firm
Principal Engineer. The $213 million large scale construction project consisted of a 20 -story building with more than 70 courtrooms within the
714,000-SF facility. Terracon performed a subsurface exploration program and geotechnical engineering evaluation to determine if the
augercast piles were a suitable type of foundation system for support of the structure. Recommendations for the foundation de sign and related
construction were furnished. Terracon also provided construction materials testing and inspect ion services. The scope of work entailed pile
load test analysis and pile length recommendations, pile construction monitoring, post tension monitoring, and sealant specia l inspections.
Firm’s Fee: $216,000 estimated
e.
(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State) (2) YEAR COMPLETED
City of Cooper City Sports Complex Restroom
City of Cooper City, FL
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (If applicable)
2015 N/A
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE ☒ Check if project performed with current firm
APR/Quality Review.
