<br />01519 - 1/2 <br />SECTION 01519 - TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE: The Work specified in this Section consists of maintaining traffic within the limits <br />of the project for the duration of the construction period. It shall include the construction <br />and maintenance of the detour road as shown on the Drawings, furnishing, installing, and <br />maintaining of traffic control and safety devices during construction, the control of dust, <br />and any other special requirements for safe and expeditious movement of traffic as may <br />be called for on the Drawings or as directed by the Engineer. <br />1.02 STANDARD REFERENCES: The following standard specifications shall apply to the work <br />of this section as indicated: <br />A. Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge <br />Construction, latest edition, (FDOT). <br />B. State of Florida, Manual of Traffic Control and Safe Practices for Street and Highway <br />Construction, latest edition <br />1.03 TESTS: The Contractor shall perform all required density tests specified by the <br />referenced sections below. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 EMBANKMENT MATERIALS: Embankment materials shall conform to SECTION 02220, <br />Excavation and Backfill, of these Specifications. <br />2.02 LIMEROCK BASE: The roadway base shall conform to SECTION 02232, Limerock Base, <br />of these Specifications. <br />2.03 ASPHALT CONCRETE PAVEMENT: The pavement of the detour road shall conform to <br />SECTION 02513, Asphalt Concrete Pavement, of these Specifications. <br />2.04 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MARKINGS: All temporary striping shall be white or yellow <br />degradable reflective tape with non-metallic backing, pre-coated with a pressure sensitive <br />adhesive, and conforming to the requirements of FDOT Standard Specification Section <br />102-3.2.5. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 SITE PREPARATION: All site preparation shall conform to SECTION 02100, Site <br />Preparation of these Specifications. <br />3.02 EMBANKMENT CONSTRUCTION: The embankments required for the detour roads shall <br />be constructed to the lines and grades shown on the Drawings and conform to SECTION <br />02220, Excavation and Backfill, of these Specifications. The Contractor shall provide <br />adequate drainage for all temporary construction as directed by the Engineer. <br />3.03 ROADWAY BASE CONSTRUCTION: The base shall be constructed to the lines and <br />grades shown on the Drawings and conform to SECTIONS 02232, Limerock Base. <br />3.04 ASPHALT CONCRETE PAVEMENT: All pavement for the detour roads shall be <br />constructed as shown on the Drawings and conform to SECTION 02513, Asphalt Concrete <br />Pavement, of these Specifications.
