<br /> <br />01710 - 1/2 <br />SECTION 01710 - CLEANING <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> <br />1.01 DESCRIPTION <br />A. Perform cleaning, during progress of Work, and at completion of Work, as required <br />by General Conditions. <br /> <br />1.02 DISPOSAL REQUIREMENTS <br />A. Conduct cleaning and disposal operations to comply with codes, ordinances, <br />regulations, and anti-pollution laws. <br />1.03 GOOD “HOUSEKEEPING” PRACTICES <br />A. Contractor shall maintain good housekeeping practices throughout the duration of <br />the project. <br />B. If the City is dissatisfied with the cleanliness of the site, a written notice to improve <br />cleanliness with specific instructions for improvement may be issued. If the <br />Contractor does not improve cleanliness to the satisfaction of the City, payment may <br />be denied and a separate contractor may be hired to complete Dust Control and <br />Clean-up operations. Denied payments and cost of independent contractor will be <br />subtracted from the lump-sum amount for this pay item and from the retainage <br />amount if necessary, through a change order. <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />A. Use only those cleaning materials which do not create hazards to health or property <br />and which do not damage surfaces. <br />B. Use only those cleaning materials and methods recommended by manufacturer of <br />surface material to be cleaned. <br />C. Use cleaning materials only on surfaces recommended by cleaning material <br />manufacturer. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 DURING CONSTRUCTION <br />A. Perform periodic cleaning to keep Work, site and adjacent properties free from <br />accumulations of waste materials, rubbish and windblown debris, resulting from <br />construction operations. <br />B. Provide on-site containers for collection of waste materials, debris, and rubbish.
