The City of North Miami Beach services the entire City. For informational purposes, <br />there are no areas of domestic self -supply within the City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br />3.5 North Miami Beach Water System <br />NMB U#4y Water is a sub -regional water and wastewater utility that furnishes potable water <br />service for a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial customers in northeast Miami - <br />Dade County. The Aut#eFity'sservice area, which covers approximately 25 square miles, consists <br />of certain unincorporated areas of Miami -Dade County, and the incorporated areas of the Cities <br />of Aventura, Miami Gardens, and Sunny Isles Beach and Town of Golden Beach. T;e NMB 4444y <br />Water owns, operates, and maintains both separate and interconnected potable systems to meet <br />regional potable water supply needs. <br />NMB Water ceased purchasing water from Miami -Dade WASD in 2008. Currently, NMB Water <br />has a 30 -year wholesale agreement with MDWASD to purchase and/or sell water on an as needed <br />basis. NMB Water only purchases water under emergency conditions. <br />The utility has eight interconnection sites with MDWASD (Interconnection Numbers 50-57) which <br />provide for pressure sustaining valves (PSV's), emergency connections, and/or control valves <br />(CV's) that can be used to add water into the storage tanks at the Norwood-Oeffler Water <br />Treatment Plant or Operations Center.
