The scope of services of this RFQ speaks directly to the accomplishments our team has successfully completed for numerous cities.
The city's public safety department encompasses the police department and Ocean Rescue, and is composed of 56 sworn officers, 13
non-sworn personnel and 37 lifeguards, all committed to serving the residents of Sunny Isles Beach. Currently, they are located on the
city's municipal campus at 18070 Collins Avenue, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160. Completed in January 2005, the City Hall building is a
4-story, 54,000 square foot edifice. The public safety departments are housed on the second floor and a portion of the third floor. We
understand the city desires to develop conceptual plans and a detailed feasibility analysis to determine whether a building renovation,
new construction, leased space, or some combination among the three available tracts of land below will provide the most practical
and cost-effective solution to meet the future space and parking needs of the organization.
18080 Collins Ave, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160 (Vacant Lot North of City Hall)
18070 Collins Ave, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160 (City Hall)
18050 Collins Ave, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160 (1-Story Building South of City Hall)
PROJECT UNDERSTANDING
Tracks A & B
Track C
Track D
If selected, our team will evaluate the current conditions and anticipated needs of the public safety department to ultimately provide
the assessment and practicality for potential options. Based on the information provided in the RFQ, we understand the city will
not only be considering building a new structure, but also renovating existing ones as part of this initiative. Our team has extensive
experience in the renovation of existing buildings and has the expertise to develop creative solutions for such a project. Renovations
involve meshing the old with the new to reveal a seamless result. There is an art to achieving this outcome that involves experience
and ingenuity. When unforeseen issues arise, the key is to have the ability to resolve the issue, given the existing building conditions,
and to thoroughly think through the best options. Our team has over five decades of experience in both new and renovation projects,
and we thrive on the challenge of solving issues to help our client achieve their desired results. Every key member on our proposed
team has prior public safety experience and will bring the full breadth of that knowledge to this project.
Our entire team is committed to supporting the city’s growing public safety needs. We apply an individualized approach to each
project, taking into account local site context, codes, and city initiatives. This allows us to ensure we are not only meeting the project
goals for the facility but also the long-term planning goals of the city. We are familiar with the protocols and procedures necessary to
ensure project success and we look forward to the opportunity to work on this upcoming Sunny Isles Beach project.
Track D
Track C
Tracks A & B
5
