COLLABORATIVE DESIGN PROCESS
Our experience has taught us that engaging facility users, project stakeholders, and community groups is vital to the success of the project.
ADG has developed an expansive plan to involve stakeholders throughout the duration of the project. This plan starts with our interactive
method of designing known as our “Participatory Planning Process.” The basis of this approach is to listen carefully to the owner’s concerns,
communicate with the project manager and team, understand the facility and community needs, as well as utilize creativity to meet the
city’s goals and objectives.
PROJECT UNDERSTANDING AND COMMITMENT
Sunny Isles Beach is an area of cultural diversity, renowned for having the 14th tallest skyline in America. Since being incorporated in 1997,
the city has seen steady population growth, especially in recent years. The current population is 22,000+ residents, and to serve this
growing population, the city's facility needs have grown as well. The current police department includes 55 sworn officers, 13 civilians,
and 37 lifeguards, for a total of 105 users. Although the existing facility was built in 2005, the police and ocean rescue departments have
outgrown the current facilities and additional space is needed for these public safety departments to continue their high-level of service to
the community. We understand the city is considering a few possible options on the current municipal campus for the development of this
project. If our team is selected, we are committed to working with the city to find the best solution that is customized to the city's needs.
BUDGET AND SCHEDULE ADHERENCE
Our team is prepared to start immediately on this project and has a proven track record of successfully delivering public safety projects
in Florida within the owner’s budget and schedule parameters. The team’s project manager, Rodney McManus, LEED AP, will monitor the
impact of daily planning and design decisions on the budget, ensuring the project stays within the city’s budget. Our team will meet to
discuss the schedule and progress of work on a regular basis to coordinate design and production. In order to achieve schedules, we utilize
the following fundamental principles:
●Scheduling is a priority. We document, review, and update our schedule at each team meeting.
●Project work elements are organized into sections, which are necessary to clarify the critical path elements that maintain schedule
compliance.
●Realistic exceptions or alternatives are established early in the design process. We anticipate that changes will occur and provide for
these eventualities as early as possible.
CONCLUSION
The entire team is excited about the opportunity work with the City of Sunny Isles Beach and the public safety department on this vital city
project. The ADG / WA team meets all eligibility requirements for this contract. As required by this RFQ, we understand that if selected, our
team is willing to meet any location, budget, or task orders. We believe the combination of our team’s experience with state-of-the art law
enforcement and public safety facilities, in addition to our team's local experience, makes us uniquely qualified to work with you on this
important project. Thank you for reviewing this proposal and we look forward to meeting in person to discuss this project in greater detail.
Both of the individuals below are authorized to make representations for the firm.
Sincerely,
Ian Reeves, AIA | President Rodney McManus, LEED AP | Vice President of Operations
Architects Design Group Architects Design Group
333 N.
