RFO 14 -07 -02
Kimley -Hom
April 18, 2012
City of North Bay Village
Administrative Offices
1700 Kennedy Causeway, Suite 132 North Bay Village FL 33141 -4190
305 -756 -7171 Fax: 305 -756 -7722 Website - www.nbvillage.com
Kimley -Horn and Associates, Inc.
5200 NW 33`' Avenue, Suite 109
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309
RE: Lefler of Reference
To whom it may concern:
Please accept this letter as my strong recommendation of the Kimley -Horn and Associates, Inc.
team. Kimley -Hom and the City of North Bay Village have worked together successfully for
several years on a variety of water, wastewater, and infrastructure improvement projects within our
community. Their professionals have worked within our time and budget constraints, and provided
quality engineering designs and creative solutions that have exceeded our expectations.
Most recently, Kimley -Horn developed a Force Main Route Evaluation Report (Contract amount
$68,500 - Completed March 2008) to determine the most beneficial and cost - effective route for our
new 16 -inch force main system. Additionally, they developed a Force Main Rehabilitation Design
Criteria Package (Contract amount $365,000 - Completed April 2010) used to select a Design Build
Team based on qualifications, experience, project approach, and price. Kimley -Horn obtained the
necessary environmental permits through the Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S.
Army Corp of Engineers. Mostly importantly, Kimley -Hom was instrumental in helping the City
obtain over $3.5 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding and State Revolving
Loan dollars, to help offset the total project cost of $4.5 million. The new 16 -inch force main has
been installed, successfully activated, and in service.
Their responsiveness and willingness to tackle our City's infrastructure challenges have made
Kimley -Horn one of our long- standing partners.
Sincerely,
City of North Bay Village
Sam Zamacona Jr. E.1.
Director of Public Works
Office: (305) 756 -7171
E -mail: samzamacona @nbvillage.com
D
