FELT
FLORIDA
ATLANTIC
UNIVERSITY
November 20, 2011
Re: Kimley -Horn and Associates, Inc. Recommendation
To Whom It May Concern;
Facilities Planning Department
Division of Facilities
777 Glades Road, Building CO-69 Room 107
Boca Raton,FL.33431
tel: 561.297,3141
fax: 561- .297.2260
http/ /uavp. fnn.eda /fp
We welcome this opportunity to recommend Jason Webber and the team at Kimley -Horn and
Associates, Inc. on behalf of .the Florida Atlantic University Facilities Planning and our project users. We
have worked with Kimley -Hom, as one of ourcontinuing services civil engineers, on several projects of
varying scope and magnitude and I have personally worked with Jason and the. KHA team on several of
them.
I worked with Jason on.the roadway improvements at NW 61" Avenue on the Boca Raton Campus: This
was a roadway widening project that involved -careful construction adjacent to conservation lands with
endangered burrowing owls and user - occupied buildings which needed to remain open and accessible
throughout construction. Jason and his team worked hand -in -hand with myself, other FAU staff, and the
contractor to ensure that the project was completed on schedule and to everyone's satisfaction.
® While the scope of Kimley -Horn's design for a new entry and parking area at the Louis and Anne Green
® Memory and Wellness Center differed from other larger scale work they've completed on the FAU.
® campuses in Bop Raton and the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute in Fort Pierce, Jason and his
team showed the same level of care and detail on this project and were in- there- with -us from the
® beginning. Thanks to this project the seniors at the facility have an ideal path of travel which was
® thoughtfully integrated into the existing building and enhances the Center's primary entry.
Working with Kimley =Hom on this project and other road improvement projects in recent years is a
reminder of their value and the confidence we have in their great work.
Si y -
LyTster
Project Manager
(561) 297 -0821
"V 741- 7,P I /
BOCA RATON • FORT LAUDERDALE • DAMA.BFACH • HARBOR BRANCH • IUPITER -PORT ST.
