Mr. Stan Morris, City Manager
RE: Central Island Area Drainage Improvements and Stormwater Pump Station Project
CAS Amendment No. 6
Page 12
Prepare and submit Miami -Dade County Regulatory Economic Resources Class II permit
application with supporting documentation to secure the permit and to the Army Corps of
Engineers as necessary. This service will include up to two responses to requests for additional
information letters from each of these agencies. Permit fees are not included in this scope.
Wetland resources permitting services are not included in this proposal.
Lump Sum: $10,500.00
2. Update Costs/Contract Documents/Bidding Services
Update quantity take -off and an engineer's opinion of probable cost estimate for the proposed
pump station. Coordinate with subconsultant Electrical Engineer to address code revisions as
necessary and bid related questions. CAS will prepare contract documents and specifications
and assist the OWNER in advertising for and obtaining bids to construct the system. CAS will
assist OWNER during pre -bid meeting as the OWNER's representative to discuss the project
and answer questions from prospective bidders during the bid advertisement period. CAS will
perform bid reviews, tabulate data, perform reference checks, and assist the Owner in the
evaluation of bids and submit bid award recommendation package to the OWNER. Engineering
Services During Construction and Construction Observation Services are not included in this
proposal and will be included at the time the project is awarded.
Lump Sum: $14,800.00
Prior to the hiring of the new City Engineer, plan reviews from Calvin, Giordano, & Associates,
Inc acting as Interim City Engineer (CGA) which has a project (Sunny Isles Bike Lane) that
overlaps the latter CAS project. We anticipate similar overlap with the original CAS design that
could lead to updating plans. This scope will cover these services as well. All items will be
billed as lump sum with exception of the last two items which are to be billed on an hourly basis
for a not to exceed amount without prior approval.
3. We want to recognize that this original project has been reviewed by the former City Engineer,
City Staff, City Special Consultant and the County (Class II Permitting) staff. Additionally, the
permitted construction plans were previously bid. Plan revisions other than cosmetic or minor
adjustments should be all that is needed. However, if it is reviewed by others as a new design
project, then CAS will need to cover its costs associated with such a review.
Hourly: $24,225.00
