FLO <br />.4r <br />fTt OF 5tYN <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners <br />VIA: Stan Morris, City Manager. <br />FROM: Fabricio Volpi, Public Works Director. <br />DATE: April 16, 2026 <br />RE: Approval of First Amendment with Cool Water Air Conditioning <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff presents this item for Commission approval. <br />REASONS: <br />Cool Water Air Conditioning was awarded a contract on July 17, 2025, through Resolution 2025-3853. <br />The contract included a $30,000 contingency allowance for as -needed repairs and replacements outside <br />of the City's citywide preventive maintenance service plan. To date, the City has utilized this $30,000 <br />contingency for several projects, including the PCP IT Room mini -split replacement, PCP chiller coil <br />replacement, compressor and fan motor replacement at Gateway, and the replacement of a 3-ton air <br />conditioning unit located outside of Ocean Rescue. <br />To maintain continuity of operations and to address unforeseen repair and replacement needs, <br />additional funding is required. Note, the contract is set to expire on July 31, 2027. <br />Public Works is requesting additional compensation in an amount not to exceed $100,000 to cover as <br />needed repairs and ensure continued operations through the end of this current agreement in July <br />2027. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br />Item Number: 9.E <br />237 <br />
