Commissioner Morrow moved and Commissioner Iglesias seconded a motion to approve the <br /> proposal, was adopted by a roll call vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> Vote: Commissioner Iglesias yes <br /> Commissioner Kauffman yes <br /> Commissioner Morrow yes <br /> Vice Mayor Turetsky yes <br /> Mayor Samson <br /> City Manager DiPietro reminded the Commission that earlier in the meeting they had authorized <br /> the purchase of an additional 2-acre site, and it would also need clearing. [City Clerk's Note: see <br /> agenda item 9A above, site located between North Bay Road and 181" and 182m Streets] He <br /> requested City Commission administrative authority to negotiate with the same company to do <br /> lot clearance for up to S12,500. <br /> Mayor Samson moved and Commissioner Morrow seconded a motion to give the City Manager <br /> authority to negotiate for up to $12,000 for the additional site. The motion was approved <br /> by a unanimous voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 11. DISCUSSION ITEMS: <br /> 11A. CONCEPTUAL APPROVAL - ANIMAL CONTROL COMMITTEE (ad hoc) <br /> City Manager DiPietro said the City has an animal control problem particularly with cats. The <br /> goal is to have citizen volunteers help trap animals that would then be neutered. The City would <br /> provide traps and spend approximately $2,500 to $3,500 a year. Commissioner Morrow asked <br /> about any City liability for injury to volunteers, and if our insurance would cover it. The City <br /> Manager promised to look into it. <br /> Commissioner Morrow moved and Commissioner Kauffman seconded a motion to approve the <br /> proposal following a check of the insurance concerns,which was approved by a roll call vote <br /> of 5-0 in favor. <br /> Vote: Commissioner Iglesias yes <br /> Commissioner Kauffman yes <br /> Commissioner Morrow yes <br /> Vice Mayor Turetsky yes <br /> Mayor Samson ves <br /> Mayor Samson asked Commissioner Kauffman to oversee the process. He said he would give <br /> her the name of a woman who wanted to volunteer to head the program. <br /> 11B.
