7/2011 <br />15060 - 14 <br /> Date of manufacture - Manufacturer's Name & Code <br /> - Nominal size - "(CI)" - DR number – Pressure Class – Test Pressure for Hydro <br />Tested or “NOT HYDROSTATIC PROOF TESTED” – AWWA designation number – <br />Manufacturer’s name or trade mark and production run or lot code – Seal (Mark) of the <br />testing agency verifying suitability of material for potable water service (must be NSF). <br /> <br /> Couplings and fabricated fittings shall be marked with: <br /> Nominal Size – “(CI)” – Deflection angle, if applicable – “PVC” – AWWA Pressure <br />Class – AWWA designation number of the applicable standard (C900 or C905) – Man- <br />ufacturer’s name or trademark - Seal (Mark) of the testing agency verifying suitability of <br />material for potable water service (must be NSF). <br /> <br />2. TYPE C900 and C905 PVC FITTINGS <br />Fittings for AWWA C900 and C905, PVC (CI) shall conform to the requirements of <br />ASTM Standard D 1784 and the specifications for AWWA C900 and C905, PVC (CI) <br />pipe herein, except as modified below. <br /> <br />a. All fittings for C900 pipe shall be manufactured from PVC compound conforming to <br />ASTM Standard D 1784-11. Fittings shall conform to the thickness requirements of <br />DR18. All fittings, except wye branches, shall be Class 235 and shall be manufactured <br />to withstand 755 psi quick burst pressure tested in accordance with ASTM Standard D <br />1599-99(2005), "Test Method for Short-Time Hydraulic Failure of Plastic Pipe, Tubing, <br />and Fittings" and withstand 500 psi for a minimum of 1,000 hours tested in accordance <br />with ASTM Standard D 1598-02(2009), "Test Method for Time-to-Failure of Plastic Pipe <br />Under Constant Internal Pressure". <br /> <br />b. All fittings for C905 pipe shall be manufactured from PVC compound conforming to <br />ASTM Standard D 1784-11. Fittings shall conform to the thickness requirements of <br />DR18 for sizes 14 through 30-inch and DR25 for 36 through 48-inch. All fittings, ex- <br />cept wye branches, shall be Class 235 for sizes 14 through 30-inch and Class 165 for <br />36 through 48-inch. Fittings 14 through 30-inch shall be manufactured to withstand 755 <br />psi quick burst pressure tested in accordance with ASTM Standard D 1599-99(2005), <br />"Test Method for Short-Time Hydraulic Failure of Plastic Pipe, Tubing, and Fittings" and <br />withstand 500 psi for a minimum of 1,000 hours tested in accordance with ASTM Stan- <br />dard D 1598-02(2009), "Test Method for Time-to-Failure of Plastic Pipe Under Con- <br />stant Internal Pressure". . Fittings 36 through 48-inch shall be manufactured to with- <br />stand 535 psi quick burst pressure tested in accordance with ASTM Standard D 1599- <br />99(2005), "Test Method for Short-Time Hydraulic Failure of Plastic Pipe, Tubing, and <br />Fittings" and withstand 350 psi for a minimum of 1,000 hours tested in accordance with <br />ASTM Standard D 1598-02(2009), "Test Method for Time-to-Failure of Plastic Pipe <br />Under Constant Internal Pressure". <br /> <br /> 3. Fittings shall be as manufactured by The Harrington Corporation, Lynchburg, VA, Head <br />Manufacturing Company, Preston, ID, or approved equal. <br /> <br /> C. MANHOLE COUPLINGS FOR TYPE PSM SDR-35 PVC SEWER PIPE shall conform to the <br />requirements specified hereinbefore for Type PSM SDR-35 PVC Sewer Fittings and shall be <br />completely coated on the exterior with fine aggregate bonded into/to the PVC surface. Ma n- <br />hole couplings for Type PSM SDR-35 PVC sewer pipe shall be as manufactured by Johns- <br />Manville, Harrington Corporation, or approved equal. <br />
