Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting October i6 23,2003 City of Sunny Isla Beach,Florida 4. ORDER OF BUSINESS (Additions/Deletions/Amendments) 4A. Request to Hear Items. It was requested to defer 5A and 5B to November 20, 2003; withdraw Item 9G; Amend 8C.2 and move it back to First Reading Item 7C, and amend 9A; Add-On Items 9H, 9I, 9J, 9K, and 9L. Action: Mayor Edelcup announced for the record that Items 5A and 5B be deferred to November 20, 2003; withdraw Item 9G because the City wants to take the time to study all the various sites that may be available for an Elementary School, and that this item will be placed on a future agenda; Item 8C.2 was amended and went back to First Reading, and that Item 9A was amended; and it was requested to add on Items 9H, 9I, 9J, 9K, and 9L; and to hear Item 9L (At-Large Commission Seat) and 9A (Vice Mayor Selection) first. 5. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS 5A. Certificates of Appreciation to be Presented to the following Sunny Isles Beach Lifeguards: Scott Ventura, Brian Shannon, Alan Lopez, and Justin Broman. Action: Deferred to November 20, 2003. 5B. A Plaque to be Presented to Carl Denny, Project Superintendent of the Weitz Company, for his hard work and dedication on the New City Hall/Tony Roma Project. Action: Deferred to November 20, 2003. 6. ZONING - ZONING HEARINGS ARE QUASI-JUDICIAL PUBLIC HEARINGS. 6A. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving the Zoning Application Submitted by Fortune Beach,LLC,(Z2003-08), Subject to Certain Conditions; Providing for an Effective Date. (Jade on the Beach) (Continued from 9/18/03) Action: Mayor Edelcup announced that this item is deferred, and City Attorney Dannheisser noted that it will be heard at the Zoning Hearing on November 13,2003,with the issue of the Transfer of Development Rights.
