An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, to <br /> Approve, Adopt and Enact an Ordinance Codifying and Revising the Ordinances of <br /> the City of Sunny Isles Beach,County of Miami-Dade,State of Florida;Providing for the <br /> Continuation of Previous Provisions; Repealing and Saving from Repeal Certain <br /> Ordinances Not Included Therein; Adopting Certain Changes Made to Previously <br /> Adopted Ordinances; Providing for the Proper Maintenance of the Code; Providing <br /> Penalties for Tampering with the Code; Providing for Severability and Providing for an <br /> Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title and reported, and Mayor Edelcup presented the <br /> Code Book. <br /> Public Speakers: none <br /> Vice Mayor Goodman moved and Commissioner Thaler seconded a motion to approve <br /> the proposal on first reading. The motion was approved by a roll call vote of 4-0 in <br /> favor. (Sponsored by Mayor Norman S. Edelcup) <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title and City Attorney Dannheisser reported. <br /> Public Speakers: Herb Abramson <br /> Mayor Edelcup stated that one of the reasons he brought this up for sponsorship is that in <br /> the last two years that he served as Commissioner,he observed too many times where they <br /> were being lobbied by various interests as to the various projects going on and the <br /> lobbyists would meet individually with Commission, and then each Commissioner would <br /> meet with the City staff on the project, and then back to Commission meeting which <br /> elongated the whole process. They may come to City Hall and speak with staff but with <br /> this Ordinance they will come to an open forum with the City Commission at a workshop <br /> 3 <br />
