<br /> <br />01720 - 1/3 <br />SECTION 01720 AS-BUILT DOCUMENTS <br /> <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> <br />A. CONTRACTOR shall maintain and provide the ENGINEER with record documents <br />as specified below, except where otherwise specified. <br /> <br />B. Maintenance of Documents: <br />1. Maintain in CONTRACTOR'S field office in clean, dry, legible condition complete <br />sets of the following: Drawings, Specifications, Addenda, approved Shop <br />Drawings, Samples, photographs, Change Orders, other modifications of <br />Contract Documents, test records, survey data, Field Orders, and all other <br />documents pertinent to CONTRACTOR'S Work. <br />2. Provide files and racks for proper storage and easy access. File in accordance <br />with filing format of Construction Specification Institute (CSI), unless otherwise <br />approved by ENGINEER. <br />3. Make documents available at all times for inspection by ENGINEER and <br />OWNER. <br />4. As-built documents shall not be used for any other purpose and shall not be <br />removed from the CONTRACTOR'S office without ENGINEER'S approval. <br /> <br />C. Marking System: Provide colored pencils or felt tipped pens for marking changes, <br />revisions, additions and deletions, to the record set of Drawings. Use following color <br />code unless otherwise approved by the ENGINEER: <br />1. Process and Mechanical: Red <br />2. Other Printed Notations: Black <br /> <br />D. Recording: <br />1. Label each document "PROJECT AS-BUILTS" in 2-inch high printed letters. <br />2. Keep record documents current. <br />3. Do not permanently conceal any Work until required information has been <br />recorded. <br />4. Drawings: Mark-up actual installations, which vary substantially from the work as <br />originally shown. Mark whichever drawing is most capable of showing the as-built <br />condition fully and accurately; however, where shop drawings are used for mark- <br />up, record a cross-reference at the corresponding location on the contract <br />drawings. Mark-up new information, which is recognized to be of importance to <br />the OWNER, but was not shown on either the contract drawings or shop <br />drawings. Give particular attention to concealed work, which would be difficult to <br />measure and record at a later date. Note related change order numbers where <br />applicable. Organize as-built drawing sheets into manageable sets, bind with <br />durable paper cover sheets, and print suitable titles, date and other identification <br />of the cover of each set. The following minimum information shall be included, as <br />applicable: <br />a. Depths of various elements of foundation in relation to datum. <br />b. Horizontal and vertical location of underground utilities and appurtenances <br />referenced to permanent surface improvements. <br />c. Location of internal utilities and appurtenances Concealed in construction <br />referenced to visible and accessible features of structure.
