<br /> <br />02100 - 1/2 <br />SECTION 02100 SITE PREPARATION <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE: <br />A. Summary of Work: The CONTRACTOR shall furnish all labor, materials, and <br />equipment necessary for complete and proper site preparation within the areas <br />shown on the Drawings and specified herein and observe permit conditions. <br />1.02 APPLICABLE PUBLICATIONS: <br />A. Applicable Standards: <br />1. Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and <br />Bridge Construction, latest edition (FDOT). <br />1.03 DEFINITIONS: (Not Used) <br />1.04 SUBMITTALS: (Not Used) <br />1.05 QUALIFICATIONS: (Not Used) <br />1.06 RESPONSIBILITIES: <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall make all excavations for piping and appurtenant structures <br />in any material encountered to the depth and grades required, shall backfill such <br />excavations and dispose of excess or unsuitable materials from excavation, and <br />shall provide and place necessary borrow material to properly backfill excavations, <br />all as indicated on the drawings, specified herein, or as directed by the ENGINEER. <br />B. Excavation, dewatering, sheeting and bracing required shall be carried out so as to <br />prevent any possibility of undermining or disturbing the foundations of any existing <br />structure or work, and so that all work may be accomplished and inspected in the <br />dry, except as directed by the ENGINEER. Aqueous construction may be performed <br />only with prior approval of the ENGINEER. <br />1.07 CERTIFICATIONS AND TESTINGS: (Not Used) <br />1.08 INSPECTION COORDINATION: (Not Used) <br />1.09 WARRANTY: (Not Used) <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS (Not Applicable) <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 TRAFFIC CONTROL: The CONTRACTOR shall provide proper warning devices and <br />barriers for protection of the public and workmen in accordance with FDOT Specification <br />Section 102-3 Traffic Control and local regulations. <br />3.02 STANDARD CLEARING AND GRUBBING: Standard site clearing and grubbing, in <br />accordance with FDOT Specification Section 110.2, shall be performed within the areas <br />shown on the Drawings or otherwise noted in the above referenced specification.
