a <br /> ® 5197 Structure Replacement, U.S. 1 in Proximity to Manatee Bay, Miami Dade County, FL <br /> ® The project site is located near the mouth of Canal C-111 and is less than 1,000 feet east of U.S. 1 and <br /> ® approximately 3 miles from the shore of Manatee Bay in the Southeastern part of Miami-Dade County, <br /> Florida (Homestead Field Station service area). The SFWMD is planning to replace the existing S-197 <br /> ® water control structure from corrugated metal pipe(CMP)culverts to reinforced concrete box structures. <br /> ® ^ The 5-197 structure maintains optimum <br /> upstream water level in Canal C-111 and <br /> ® <br /> prevents saline intrusion during high tides. <br /> ® Most of the time, 5-197 diverts discharge from <br /> ® <br /> c the S-18C overland to the panhandle of the <br /> Everglades National Park and releases water <br /> ® 4't ` during major floods as established by the <br /> r ' --74-pt structure's operational plan. Performance of <br /> ® _ 7• field work included a full-time manatee <br /> a b �� • � observation and turbidity monitoring. In land, <br /> ® r tthe geotechnical field investigation revealed <br /> ® ` `#� & • <br /> .€t ' ` ' 1 ,..,+'% surficial fill material comprising limerock, fine <br /> ri i Y T` -- i s - - sand and silt. Keeping in mind, the <br /> ® potential settlement to be induced by the <br /> ® proposed structure, PSI provided cost-effective foundation alternatives. They also provided <br /> ® recommendations for a cofferdam and tremie seal to facilitate construction. <br /> Stoner and Associates(Survey) <br /> ® <br /> City of Sunrise -N.W. 136th Avenue <br /> ® Performed a topographic survey of N.W. 136th Avenue,from the north approach slab of the New River <br /> ® Canal Bridge to the south side of Sunrise Boulevard and from the west back of curb to the east back of <br /> ® curb.Total length of project: 9,540 linear feet. <br /> City of Sunrise-Entry Feature Walls <br /> ® Performed topographic surveys for eleven sites. Surveys were for the design and construction of new <br /> entry feature signs. <br /> ® City of Miami Beach-South Pointe II <br /> ® Performed a right-of-way and topographic of a southern portion of Miami Beach. Located aboveground <br /> ® improvements. Prepared storm and drainage as-builts.
