Nova Southeastern University
Davie,Florida
Client: Nova Southeastern University
Scope: Master Planning, Detailed Design and Construction Administration Services
Scale: 550 Acres
EDSA has been providing master planning services, detail site development, and design
guidelines for Nova Southeastern University since 1995. Over the past 14 years as each new
phase is planned and implemented EDSA is challenged to adl, iere to the design guidelines
that the firm helped create for the University while also giving each new building/area its own
personality. Some of the ways this is achieved is through paving patterns, artistic fencing,
signage and entry statements. EDSA recently worked with a renowned artist to complete
the installation of a "Shark Fountain" as part of the University Center complex. This Student
Government-commissioned art feature represents both a symbol of the NSU Sharks athletic
Team, and a reference to NSU's Oceanographic Studies program. EDSA has also helped
the University in its committed to the development of a sustainable, energy-efficient campus.
Planning of shaded paths encourages walking and landscaping helps control excess rain,
addresses drainage issues while mixing soft and hard areas to provide comfortable outdoor
spaces for students to relax and circulate.
