The design of the new fields will include drainage, lighting, and irrigation as well as associated parking, <br />walkways, and landscape improvements. Construction cost is estimated at $3.3 million, with completion scheduled for <br />December, 2016. The project required coordination with multiple agencies and F.D.O.T. for the installation of a new <br />irrigation system and plant material. The city received grant funding from Miami Dade County for the improvements, <br />and the project received the “Project of the Year” award from the American Public Works Association -South Florida <br />Chapter.
