<br />Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting <br /> <br />May 21, 2009 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br /> <br />10. RESOLUTIONS <br /> <br />lOA. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving a <br />First Addendum to Agreement with Otis Elevator Company by Adding Maintenance of <br />the Elevator at Pelican Community Center, in an Amount Not to Exceed $230.00 per <br />Month, Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said First <br />Addendum to Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to <br />Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Acting City Manager Conner reported. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve this <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2009-1408 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />lOB. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving <br />an Agreement with Sun Shade, Inc., D/B/A Industrial Shadeports, LLC, for the <br />Purchase and Installation of a Shade Cover Structure for Town Center Park, in an <br />Amount Not to Exceed $28,500.00, Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the Mayor <br />to Execute Said Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to <br />Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Acting City Manager Conner reported noting <br />that Acting Public Works Director Bill Evans and Cultural and Human Services Director <br />Susan Simpson did a great job in getting this price. If a storm comes we can remove the <br />shade cover and then replace it ourselves after the storm. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Commissioner Scholl asked what the timing is for the installation, and Acting Public Works <br />Director Bill Evans said two (2) weeks. Vice Mayor Thaler asked if we will use a similar <br />one for new parks, and Acting City Manager Conner said yes, and that we can actually <br />expand it without starting from scratch. There is already one in Samson Oceanfront Park. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brezin moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve this <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2009-1409 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />10C. A Resolution of the City Commission ofthe City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving a <br />Joint Project Agreement from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), <br />Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A", for the Continuing Turf and Landscape Maintenance of <br />SR-AIA (Collins Avenue) and SR-826 (Sunny Isles Boulevard); Authorizing the Mayor <br />to Execute Said Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to <br />Effectuate the Terms of the Agreement; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Acting City Manager Conner reported noting <br />that the amount being paid to the City by FDOT has remained the same since the City <br />incorporated in 1997. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />7 <br />
