<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004-1d:14 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, <br />ESTABLISHING FIVE (5) ADVISORY COMMITTEES TO <br />THE MA YOR'S ADVISORY COUNCIL (M.A.C.); <br />PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A CHAIR OF <br />EACH COMMITTEE AS THE LIAISON TO THE CITY <br />COMMISSION; PROVIDING FOR THE SELECTION OF <br />COMMITTEE MEMBERS; PROVIDING FOR ANNUAL <br />REPORTING REQUIREMENTS; PROVIDING FOR THE <br />TERMINATION OF COMMITTEES; PROVIDING FOR <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 4.3 of the City Charter, the City Commission has the <br />authority to create advisory committees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission wish to establish advisory committees to <br />serve the citizens of Sunny Isles Beach and on which the citizens may serve and secure input <br />from the citizenry; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission have the desire to create the following <br />advisory committees which comprise the Mayor's Advisory Council (M.A.C.): (1) <br />Transportation and Traffic Control; (2) Education/Schools; (3) Community Safety and Welfare; <br />(4) Tourism and Development, and (5) Long Range Planning and Intergovernmental Relations. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISISON <br />OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Establishment of Advisory Committees. The City Commission hereby creates the <br />following advisory Committees which comprises the Mayor's Advisory Council (M.A.C.): <br />(1) Transportation and Traffic Control; (2) Education/Schools; (3) Community Safety and <br />Welfare; (4) Tourism and Development; (5) Long Range Planning and Intergovernmental <br />Relations. <br /> <br />Section 2. Appointment of Chairperson. Pursuant to the City of Sunny Isles Beach Rules of <br />Procedure adopted by the City Commission, the Mayor shall appoint the chairperson of each <br />advisory committee and designate one Commissioner as liaison between the Committee and the <br />Commission. The Mayor may appoint a person as Chairperson to two (2) different committees. <br /> <br />Section 3. Appointment of Committee Members. Pursuant to the Rules of Procedure adopted <br />by the City Commission, each Commissioner shall appoint one (1) member to each advisory <br />committee.
