Russo <br />City Manager <br />17070 Collins Avenue, Suite 250 <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br /> <br />Reference: Revisions to Central Island Drainage and Street Improvements Project <br />Implementation of Bicycle Path. <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Russo: <br /> <br />Based on our conversation of October 14, we proceeded to evaluate the revisions to the <br />already completed set of plans to accommodate a bicycle path along North Bay Road, <br />Atlantic Blvd, NE 178lh Street and NE 178lh Drive. <br /> <br />Proposed Scope of Services: <br /> <br />Beiswenger, Hoch and Associates will revise all the plans where the bicycle path will be <br />designed within the City's right of way limits. To accommodate the bicycle path BHA will <br />redesign the street geometric configuration and relocate the newly designed drainage <br />structures and drainage wells. <br /> <br />In addition, BHA will revise all signing and marking plans to add bicycle path routes and <br />traffic flow configuration. <br /> <br />The bicycle path geometric design shall comply with the Florida Bicycle Handbook <br />(latest edition) recommendations. The path shall be designed for one-way circulation <br />with appropriated signing and marking nomenclature in combination with existing <br />vehicular traffic configurations. Bicycle paths shall be designed for asphalt construction <br />overlaid on a granular base. <br /> <br />The final design shall comply with the latest standards and recommendations from the <br />"Florida Bicycle Handbook"; "A policy on the Geometric Design of Highways and <br />Streets", form the AASHTO; "Guide for the Development of Bicycle Facilities" from the <br />AASHTO; "Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices", from the FHWA; FDOT's Plans <br />Preparation Manual"; and the "Manual for Uniform Minimum Standards for Design, <br />Construction, and Maintenance for Streets and Highways", FDOT. <br /> <br />Plans Revision <br /> <br />The revision to the plans will include the geometric redesign of streets, location of 5 \ B <br />drainage structures, typical sections, summary of quantities, cross sections. signing and <br /> <br />.__________n_...____.______.__.____ <br />-.., .--.---..--.----------.------.---- <br /> <br />Exhibit "A" <br /> <br />P 0 bo.. ~ 368. r'lorlh Miami Beach <br /> <br />iUlte 203.
