<br />1. The Florida Cities of Excellence Award Program is
<br />open to Florida cities, towns and villages that are current
<br />members of the Florida League of Cities.
<br />
<br />2. Nominations must be submitted by August 18,
<br />2006, to the:

<br />3. Only one nomination per packet.
<br />
<br />4. No faxes or e-mails, please,
<br />
<br />5. Each city may submit nominees in mult~le catego-
<br />ries; however, only one nomination per city per award
<br />category can be accepted.
<br />
<br />6. Winners from the 2004 and 2005 Florida Cities
<br />of Excellence Awards programs are not eligible to be
<br />nominated in the same category they previously won, but
<br />they may be nominated for other categories.
<br />
<br />7. The nomination material for the Mayor of the Year,
<br />Councilmember of the Year, City Employee of the Year,
<br />City Manager of the Year, City Clerk of the Year, City
<br />Attorney of the Year, City Finan.ce Official of the Year,
<br />and City Citizen of the Year categories should reflect the
<br />nominees' exemplary efforts and service during the prior
<br />year only (not for lifetime achievement).
<br />
<br />8. Please submit one original nomination packet and
<br />eight copies (including supportive information). Please do
<br />not staple nomination packets or use presentation folders.
<br />
<br />9. Narratives should be typed (or printed in black ink)
<br />double-spaced on white 8-1/2" x 11" paper. No more
<br />than 1 ,200 words, please.
<br />
<br />1 O. Supportive material is limited to 10 8-1/2" x 11"
<br />pages (single.sided only).

<br />11. The judges reserve the right not to award a win-
<br />ner in every category.
<br />
<br />12. Finalists will be announced in early October
<br />2006, and the awards will be presented on Friday No-
<br />vember 17, 2006, at the Hyatt Regency Orlando Interna-
<br />tional Airport Hotel during the Awards Banquet.
<br />
<br />13. Following the announcement of finalists in early
<br />October, all finalists will be asked to send a color photo-
<br />graph (either hard copy or digitalL along with a 25 word
<br />or less summary of the narrative, This information will be
<br />used in League publications and during the awards ban-
<br />quet. In addition, finalists in the Mayor of the Year and
<br />Florida City of Excellence Award categories will submit
<br />a video presentation that will be featured at the awards
<br />ceremony,
