<br />Contract for Professional Services
<br />
<br />THIS AGREEMENT was originally made and entered into on the 8th day of
<br />January, 1998 and revised on March 11, 1999, and revised again on Decemb'er 21,
<br />2000, and revised again on December 18, 2003, and revised again on December 18,
<br />2004, and revised again on December 8 ,2005, by and between the City of
<br />Sunny Isles Beach, a Florida municipal corporation ("CITY") and Ronald L. Book,
<br />Esquire ("BOOK"), an attorney and member of the Florida Bar, doing business as
<br />Ronald L. Book, P.A,
<br />
<br />THE PARTIES HERETO DO COVENANT AND AGREE AS FOLLOWS:
<br />
<br />1. PURPOSE
<br />
<br />The purpose of this Agreement is to provide for the CITY to retain the professional
<br />services of BOOK for coordination of the City's legislative relations and for lobbying
<br />requirements, as described in paragraph II herein below,
<br />
<br />II, SERVICES
<br />
<br />BOOK shall provide all necessary legislative relations and lobbying services in any
<br />jurisdiction to the City of Sunny Isles Beach, including advising the City Attorney of
<br />any new legislation that may affect the City, Such services shall include work for
<br />the purposes of securing funds and grants for various purposes from State, Federal
<br />and other sources, promoting intergovernmental cooperation in achieving CITY's
<br />objective, securing funds and grants for parks and recreation purposes, crime
<br />prevention, economic development. tourism, beautification, traffic and streetscape
<br />improvement, beach renourishment and other purposes, BOOK shall regularly
<br />report thc status of his efforts to the City Manager and/or City Attorney.
<br />
<br />Ill. COMPENSATION
<br />
<br />For all professional services provided by Book hereunder as described in paragraph
<br />II, the CITY shall pay BOOK annual compensation of Twenty Thousand and No/ 100
<br />($20,000,00) Dollars for calendar year 1998, at an annual rate of Twenty-Five
<br />Thousand and No/lOO ($25.000,00) Dollars for January, February and March
<br />1999, at the annual rate of Forty Thousand No/ 100 ($40,000,00) Dollars for April
<br />1999 through December 1999, and at the annual rate of Fifty Thousand and
<br />
