Edelcup
City of Sunny Isles Beach Government Center
18070 Collins Avenue
Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160

RE: JCS' Senior Adult Services

Dear Mayor Edelcup,

I am happy to share with you that on Sunday, September 9,2007 we were fortunate to have some of the best
representatives from the City of Sunny Isles Beach among our hundreds of volunteers, Vice-Mayor Lewis Thaler
and his wife Madi, as well as Commissioners Brezin and Goodman participated in JCS'annualMiami Dade
County community wide Milk & Honey Food Delivery event. The commissioners were accompanied by members
of our community and their children to deliver holiday food trays to several clients of JCS' senior related
programs, including those from its Homebound Meals program - who reside in the City of Sunny Isles Beach. We
are grateful for the wonderful support of your team.

As you might recall, last year at around this time, JCS' President and CEO David Saltman and I visited with you
and presented you with an overview of the many senior related services JCS provides in Sunny Isles Beach.
Subsequent to that meeting, JCS COO Sylvia Goldsmith and David Saltman met with John Szerlag and Susan
Simpson and discussed JCS services in the Sunny Isles Beach area. It was clear that our shared vision of
enhanced senior services in the Sunny Isles Beach area is a considerable priority.

JCS works diligently to obtain additional support to provide opportunities and services for seniors to continue to
be served wherever possible. We know we can continue to do more with the City's of Sunny Isle Beach's support.
Last year, based on your suggestion, we requested $25,000 to be included in your budget. Last October 2006, we
received your generous contribution of $5,000.
---

Realizing the rising costs of providing these vital social services, once again this year, we respectfully request
$25,000 to be included in the budget of the City of Sunny Isles Beach. These funds will assist us in serving the
senior population of the City by increasing activities and expanding hours of operation at the current site
locations.

JCS is committed to serving the community as a whole regardless of race, religion, ethnicity or age. It is one of
the largest and most effective social service agencies in the South Florida, and we serve more than 35,000 people
annually through over 80 programs and services.
