<br />Exhibit "A" <br /> <br />POLICY FOR NAMING, REMAINING OR CODESIGNATION OF CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH FACILITIES AND PROPERTY <br /> <br />PURPOSE: <br /> <br />The purpose of this policy is to outline the process and criteria for the naming, renaming and <br />codesignation of the City of Sunny Isles Beach facilities and properties. <br /> <br />FACLITIES AND PROPERTIES <br /> <br />Procedures for Naming or Renaming Facilities or Property: <br /> <br />1. Policy: <br /> <br />· The City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") shall designate names of public <br />facilities in accordance with the tallowing procedures outlines here. <br /> <br />2. Definitions: <br /> <br />· Public Facilities: all properties and facilities that are within City limits. and <br />owned and controlled by the City. <br /> <br />· Parks and Recreation Facilities: are public parks. beach access easements, <br />recreation facilities and public spaces that are controlled and managed by the <br />City. <br /> <br />3. Procedure: <br /> <br />· The mayor. a member of the Commission. City's Advisory Committee or <br />any citizen may submit a request naming or renaming a public facility. <br />The requests must be submitted in writing to the Office of the City Clerk. <br />The Clerk shall present the request to members of the City Commission <br />and the City Manager. <br /> <br />· The Mayor, in consultation with the City Commissioners will review all <br />requests at a public meeting. <br /> <br />· At the discretion of the City Commission, public comments may be <br />allowed at the public meeting regarding the request naming or renaming of <br />a public facility. <br /> <br />· The Commission shall approve or disapprove the naming or renaming <br />action by resolution.
