We provided the design for a new french drain system for drainage improvements to one square mile of a flood prone residential area. We proposed new outfalls to Canal C-1W; performed ICPR modeling for the system stages and peak discharges at outfalls; Prepared ERP and Canal RIW permit applications with SFWMD. City Hall Landscape Design and Construction Administration, Sunny Isles Beach. Our open space design concept integrates the City Hall site and adjacent restaurant into a cohesive urban setting. A large fountain embraces the council chambers, providing a continuous seating area for passerby and employees alike, terminating at a small courtyard adjacent to the library. The plaza was designed to expand north as part of a future City Hall expansion project. The interplay of the shimmering water and lights on the blue mosaic wall creates a civic nighttime display. Services: Site Master Plan, Schematic Design through Construction Phase Services for Planting, Paving, Site Lighting, Irrigation, and Fountain Design. Project Cost: $750,000. Espanola Way Streetscape Improvements, Miami Beach, Florida. The design program was to develop a street plaza which reflected the surrounding historic village located on Espanola Way in Miami Beach. A continuous plaza, designed without curbs, is designed to encourage street festivals and daily social interaction. A future fountain is planned for the center of the plaza. Our design services included decorative paving, site lighting, site furniture, and planting. Services: Master Planning, Schematic Design through Construction Phase Services.
